Lest we should forget

The men who gave their lives

We have built up large tombs

For those who did not survive

Whether from a pals battalion

Or brothers who died together

They were each given a grave

But their memory won't live on forever

They'll die throughout the ages

Through the sands of time

When everyone forgets their names

And commit that hideous crime

The crime of forgetting the boys

The children who are not around

Who died beofre they should have

Whose bodies were never found

‘Your country needs you!’ shouted Kitchener

And men still volunteered

They marched into battle

As if they had nothing to fear

Now if we do forget

The atrocities of war

We should be condemned to relive it

So that it may never be ignored

So never forget

The boys who died for you

The generation that was lost

A generation lost for you
