The Paranormal Encounters of 1991

chapter 1 - the devils girls

"The Devils Girls". That's what the town called the two. 
 They were used to it by now, so it didn't affect them much. But every time they heard the words, it would make them a bit uneasy. 

Nobody here really liked them. They were Lesbians, and in 1991 it wasn't really accepted yet. So they lived their life on edge, not knowing if random bystanders could ruin their lives.

Kori loved Amara though, so she ignored what the others said, but she had to admit it hurt a little. She just loved who she loved, and she was hated and put down for it. It was stupid, and cruel, but Kori stayed with Amara and never thought of leaving her side.

They were both 16, and had just finished their Junior Year of High School. 
They met at an After-School program when they were both 13, and immediately hit it off and became very close. They were "best friends" to the public eye, but in private they had always wanted to be more. Both families were very against the LGBTQ+, and always talked bad about them, saying how they were "promoting bad behavior to the young ones".  They both knew their families would disown them if they ever found out they had something going on, so they just stayed friends.

But, on Amara's 15th birthday, Kori finally asked her out. It had taken a lot of courage, and planning, but when Amara said yes it made all the time Kori spent worth it. 
So, 4 months later, on June 28th, 1990, Kori and Amara revealed their relationship to their families.

"No, this cant be! You've got to be kidding, right? This has to be a cruel prank.. right, Amara? Come on, you'd never be gay.. you like boys! You told me!" Amara's mom had said.
Even after all the assuring that it wasn't a joke, Ms. Reeves still wouldn't believe it. She was in denial, and the girls didn't expect anything better.

So, Kori got a job, and the two moved in together. It wasn't a nice apartment, but there was a roof over their head and food on the table, so they were happy. And they could see each other every day, and kiss without having to try and hide, and be themselves.

Amara had always had a thing for ghosts and demons. She loved studying them, and going out to reportedly "haunted" houses to try and summon them.

One day, Amara got a call from her best friend, Angela Morris.

"mara, mara, you'll never believe where i am!"
"what is it, angie?"
"im at this house. everyone says this family got murdered in it, and they still haunt it to this day."
"what's the address?"
"1278 Creeks Lane, why?"


"I'll be there in 20."
