Daisy sighed with a shake of her head at Lonnie's blunt use of words but Mal did not take any offence. "Why would I do that for you?" Maleficent's daughter questioned with an edgy tone.
"I'll pay you 50 dollars." Lonnie held up a paper note from her pocket.
Before Mal could deny her request, Evie grasped the money. "Good answer. I need to buy more material. Let's see, I'm thinking, we lose the bangs, maybe some layers and some highlights."
But the more Evie went on, the less impressed Lonnie looked. "Yeah, yeah. I want it cool. Like Mal's. Or elegant, like Daisy's." She shook her head.
"Really?" Both girls craned their neck up with surprise. Were their hair that good or was it just delusion?
"The split ends too?" Evie's face scrunched up and Daisy knew that it was directed more towards Mal, laughing at Mal who glared at Evie.
Rolling her eyes, Mal irritatingly agreed, "Okay." She opened a spell book and incanted, "Beware, forswear, replace the old with cool hair."
Not even a second after, Lonnie's rough, short hair lengthened over her shoulders. Her hair became a lot more shiny and voluminous and the ends were slightly curled. It was a bit messy for Daisy's liking but she still found it to be a nice improvement.
"I know. I know." Evie shook her head with dissatisfaction, "It looks like a mop on your head. You know what? Let's cut it off, layer it—"
"No, no, no, no, no, no!" Lonnie rapidly shook her head in full defiance, "I love it!"
"You do?" Evie held pure disbelief in her face, her eyes clearly judging Lonnie's taste.
"It's just...that.....Now I'm cool."
"Like ice." Mal dryly said.
Lonnie chuckled out of happiness and as a spur of the moment, she grabbed the edge of her skirt and ripped it showing some but not a lot of skin. Daisy's eyes widened even further when Jane sprung off the bed and copied the action, exclaiming, "What did I just do? Mom's gonna kill me!" But her face held no remorse, just gladness.

The sun had set bringing darkness all over the sky and causing every room in Auradon to light up. Daisy walked around aimlessly, taking a seat on the grass by the fountain in the centre of the garden. Her fingers twirled around the tips of the grass, a sigh escaping her lips.
"Another busy day?"
She flinched at the sudden voice in the silence and looked upwards, her lips tugging upwards at the sight of Carlos holding Dude in his arms. The two had really gotten close. She patted the place beside her, inviting him to sit which he did.
"To answer your question, it wasn't that busy of a day. Most preparation are all almost over so I'm a lot less busier." She said.
Carlos nodded. "Then why the sullen face? And the long sigh? Did something bad happen?" He couldn't prevent the concern that seeped out of his tone and Daisy was glad that it wasn't day or else he might have seen her bright pink cheeks.
"Nothing bad..... it's just...." She trailed off, trying to find the correct words to express her emotions, knowing that Carlos could be trusted.
"Jane's been acting off these days. She's been hanging out with Audrey's gang and don't get me wrong, I'm really happy that she's moving out of her shell but I also can't help the worry in me....... She's been getting a bit obsessed with her looks and boys and.....I want her to see herself just as she is.....you know? A meek but friendly and nice friend...... but she's changed....."
Carlos remained silent throughout, listening closely to Daisy and hating Mal for her method of trying to complete their mission.
He knew that they were supposed to be evil, he also knew that getting the wand had to be done, there was no escape from those but that didn't mean he was desperate. He didn't want to break off others' friendships just for themselves, especially when it came to Daisy who was the most kind-hearted, sincere and brightest person he had ever met.
"Sorry for dumping this all to you, you must be getting bored." Her murmur snapped him out of his trance and Carlos snapped his head to her, shaking his head vigorously.
"No, no, no, don't be. I'm not bored. It's just that..... I completely understand too." He said, his mind going back to how Mal used to be. She was the meanest of their gang but never this much. She never tried to ruin bonds nor had she ever been so desperate. "You know, the feeling of someone close to you suddenly beginning to change....."
Daisy smiled sadly, petting Dude. "I guess either the Isle or Auradon, some things are experienced by everyone, huh?" She mused and Carlos nodded in agreement, his heart wrenching at seeing her usually shining eyes and bright smile all sullen and dull.
"Hey, I recently downloaded a game, so you want to play? I can teach you." He suggested, his thumb pointing over to the direction of his dorm. "I'm sure Jay would be more than glad to join in too." He internally raised his fists to the air in victory when Daisy eagerly nodded, her smile losing the sadness within it.
"But after we make a stop at the kitchens and get Dude something to eat." She said and Carlos nodded readily, the two standing up and laughing loudly as Carlos instigated a race to the kitchens.
