I couldn't remember the last time me and Loki could actually feel included, everywhere I go it's always as if I'm just a shadow on the wall. At least Loki listens to me, we do share a link after all. "Mars, your head is in the clouds again hm?" Loki was pacing a room with me against the wall and Thor sitting down of a step. 'Hey Loki.' My mouth wouldn't move. 'Mars, are you thinking what I am?' 'I believe so brother.' Are eyes were linked together as we spoke without making sound. I sit on one side of my older brother, Loki on the other side. "It is unwise to be in my company right now, brothers. This was to be my day of triumph." I look Thor and Loki in the eyes. "It'll come." Loki responds, "In time." I responded back to the both of them. I look on over Loki's shoulders to see Thor's best friends coming in "What's this?" One of the group says, I ignore those of Thor's friends as usual. 'What's the point Loki, I mean they always ignore us so let's continue our talk with Thor.' He looks at me then back at our brother. "If it's any consolation, I think you're right." Thor looked at us as we spoke to him in unison. We continued, "About the Frost Giants, about Laufey, about everything. If they found a way to penetrate Asgard's defenses once, who's to say they won't try again?" Loki leaned back a bit as I spoke, "Next time with an army." Thor looked over to me "Exactly!" I nodded and continued. "There's nothing you can do without defying Father." All three of us looked at each other, our eyes went wide as Thor stood up. "No, no, no, I know that look." He leaned over both of us speaking quite sturdily. "That's the only way to ensure the safety of our borders." "Thor it's madness." I looked at both of my brothers knowing just what was happening, if we got caught it wouldn't be good.
"Madness? What sort of madness?" One of Thor's friends say, looking proud over something I could care less about. "We're going to Jotunheim." I looked at Thor as I was once more leaning against the wall. 'Are you hearing this Loki?' 'Indeed I am.' We looked at each other then back at Thor. Volstagg must've been thinking the same as me for once, he was oddly surprised. "What?" "This isn't like a journey to Earth. Where you summon a little bit of lightning and thunder, and the mortals worship you as a god. This is Jotunheim." A blonde hair man stepped forward trying to explain some sense into our conversation. "My father fought his way into Jotunheim, defeated their armies and took their Casket. We would just be looking for answers." I rolled my eyes and slumped to the floor, Thor really thinks this is a good idea. "It is forbidden!" I honestly agreed with Thor's friends for once. 'I'm gonna say something.' Loki gave me a look that said go ahead, as if they will listen. "Honestly brother, think about it there's a higher chance of us getting caught. Even if we make it alive we don't have any plans on what to say." A few of his friends nodded. "My friends, have you forgotten all that we have done together? Fandral, Hogun. Who lead you into the most glorious of battles?" He leaned closer into one's face, "you did." Thor continued his rant. "And Volstagg, to delicacies so succulent, you thought you'd died and gone to Valhalla?" Once more they replied, you did. "Yes! And who proved wrong all who scoffed at the idea that a young maiden could be one of the fiercest warriors this realm has ever known?" Thor walk towards his lady friend, "I did." She replied proud. "True, but I supported you, Sif." Thor looked all around the room. "My friends, we're going to Jotunheim."
As I walked along side my twin brother, our brother, and his friends, I felt like I shouldn't be going to Jotunheim. I was thinking on my own for now, not using my link with Loki. 'Why is it that I seem to never please Thor. Father won't let me be a knight, yet I'm ready for it and I swear to the underworld that I'm stronger than he knows. You know what? I'm going to make Thor and Father proud today.' As we kept walking I replayed over and over how I was going to prove I can make my brother proud. 'Mars, head out of the clouds please.' I looked at Loki and mouthed 'sorry.' Everyone but me hopped on a horse and took off down the rainbow bridge. I took a deep breath and sped through the air with a neon trail forming behind me. I was far ahead of everyone so I landed on the bridge as I was now 100ft away from our destination. "Leave this to me," Loki said coming closer. "Good Heimdall..." He was cut-off. "You're not dressed warmly enough." "I'm sorry?" Loki seemed confused. "Do you think that you can deceive me?" Loki laughed a bit and told him he must be mistaken. "Enough! Heimdall, may we pass?" Thor got impatient , again. "Never has an enemy slipped my watch until this day. I wish to know how that happened." Heimdall's voice was cold and emotionless. "Then tell no one where we have gone until we've returned. Understand?" Thor stormed past Heimdall, we all followed his lead. "What happened? Silver tongue turn to lead?" Thor's friends scoffed at my brother and laughed, my brow's narrowed at the sight of those idiots.
'Don't listen to them.' 'Yes, Mars I know don't worry.' Loki brushed my shoulder and took my hand as we walked inside together as always. Heimdall worked his magic, I couldn't help but let my eyes wonder as he did so. It was always so fascinating to me. "Be warned, I will honor my sworn oath to protect this realm as its Gatekeeper. If your return threatens the safety of Asgard, Biftost will remain closed to you and you'll be left to die in the cold waste of Jotunheim." Heimdall's voice echoed as Volstagg put in his cocky attituded. "Couldn't you just leave the bridge open for us?" "To leave the bridge open would unleash the full power of the Bifrost and destroy Jotunheim with you upon it." Thor added on to the conversation, "I have no plans to die today." "None do." With those last words, we started our blast to Jotunheim. Everyone landed properly on their feet. Well almost everyone. "Mars here," Loki whispered to me as I caught myself hard on the knees. "Be careful." We all gazed at the place, you could hear the wind hollow, the cold brush your skin, everything had such a grey color it was strange. 'This place seems familiar doesn't it?' No response back. Finally the silence was broken by a friend of Thor's "We shouldn't be here." I had some eerie yet nostalgic feeling being here, cold and feeling alone. "Let's move." Thor spoke and we followed as always, even if it felt wrong.
