Chapter 47

9:30pm Thursday March 9th 2017

Patrick was lying in his room thinking about what he had done about 2 hours ago.

He broke up with Leni

She was the best thing that ever happened to him in his opinion, but he was sure she would be happier if she and Jack were getting along than if she was dating him.

He really loved her but he had to let her go.

Patrick was home alone, Lachie was out when he got home so hearing footsteps storm up the stairs confused him.

The door swung open, revealing Jack.

"What do you want?" Pat mumbled his head buried in his pillow to prevent Jack from seeing the look of sadness that wouldn't get off Patrick's face.

"You broke up with Len" Jack stated sounding extremely angry

"Yeah"

"Why the fuck would you do that" he asked sounding as though he was on the verge of shouting and attempting to murder Pat

"It was for the best"

"WHO WAS IT GOOD FOR?" Jack roared in anger and slight confusion

"I'M THE REASON YOU AND NORA HATE EACH OTHER AND I DON'T WANT TO PREVENT HER FROM HAVING HER BEST FRIEND" Pat shouted back his eyes watering slightly thinking of the girl he adored

"Nora" Jack mumbled under his breath

"You shouldn't have broken up with her because of me especially when it's so obvious to everyone around the two of you that you're in love with each other! An example is her letting you call her Nora, she hates being called Nora but is fine with you calling her that because she's in love with you" Jack spoke in a tone of complete frustration

"What"

"Geez you're an idiot! I apologised to Leni last night and we're back to normal again she was planning to tell you that but you broke up with her before she could"

"You shouldn't of let me and my feelings about the two of you being together get in the way of your relationship anyway" Jack finished off

"So I broke up with her for no reason." Pat clarified

"Pretty much, you're both in love with each other so I'm sure she'll forgive you pretty soon. You really broke her heart though, she sat in the rain crying for over an hour after you walked away"

"I fucked it up" Pat whispered to himself looking down to floor placing his head in his hands

"If you talk to her about why you did it and what your thought process was I think it'll be fine" Jack advised giving him a pat on the back

"I'll talk to her tomorrow" Patrick decided

"Okay well I'm going now but you better fix this mess because you both want to be with each other" Jack stated before walking out and heading home.

Leni finished calling her mum, Jo and Nonna and telling them what happened, all of them assured her that it would be okay and that he would realise his mistake and come crawling back.

Leni really hoped that was true.

She walked back out to the lounge and sat on the couch were the three girls were still sitting.

"Do you want to do a movie marathon with ice cream?" Asked Cassie giving her a small hug

"Sure" Leni laughed

"Alright I'll go to the shops and get some, what flavours do we want?" Cassie called out as she walked over to the bench and grabbed her bag and keys

"Mint choc chip"

"Chocolate"

"Cookies and Cream"

Were the three flavours shouted out, Cassie gave them a nod before walking out the door.

Patrick was at his local oval in the dark, he was kicking the footy around thinking about how he would talk to Leni and hopefully get her back.

If he had just let her speak first he would've known that she and Jack had made up, eventually he gave up on the footy and just sat in the grass in the middle of the oval.

Pat contemplated calling her but he decided it was probably best to give her some space, he thought what he was going to do would be the right thing but in the end it wasn't.

How was he supposed to know that though

Leni, Cassie, Bella and Darcy were sitting on the couch each with a tub of ice cream in their lap and a spoon in their hand.

It had taken them around an hour to choose what movies to watch, they had eventually decided on a range of romcoms.

"Alright quick question, what are you going to do if he tries to talk to you?" Asked Darcy turning down the volume of the TV to be able to hear her response.

"I don't really know. I'm not sure if I should respond if he tries to tam to me or not, I really want to know why he did it though and I can't without talking to him so I guess I'll have to at some stage" Leni sighed before getting a spoonful of ice cream and shovelling it into her mouth

"I think if he tries to talk to you you should hear him out in case he had a valid reason. I doubt it but maybe" Bella said

"Where does he live?" Cassie spoke up

"No Cassidy"

"No Cass"

"Cassie no"

Were the responses she got all of the girls knowing what she wanted to do.

"Geez fine"

The movie started playing again and all the girls minus Leni put their full attention on the movie, Leni on the other hand was distracted by her thoughts.

As much as she wanted to be able to talk to him she didn't know if she would be ready to anytime soon, he just walked away after breaking her heart she didn't even get to tell him she and Jack had made up, he just walked away and left her like she meant nothing to him.

She wanted to tell him she loved him and spend some time with him talking and laughing like normal, it always cheered her up but now she couldn't and she didn't know if she would be able to ever again.

She loved him

But he left her
