BP High #1: 1st Encounter

"Principal Kang, Jennie is smart but she doesn't put in the effort. I think all these jitters are making you anxious," clarifies Ms Park, not wanting to be in trouble though she believes that Jennie is almost beyond hope.

"How about we get a senior to tutor her?" suggests Ms Sandara Park.

"The seniors? Aren't they busy preparing for their CSAT? I don't think anyone would be in the right frame of mind to take this up as an extracurricular activity," Ms Gong Minji doubts that this is a good idea.

Ms Park thinks of the suggestion given by Ms Sandara, "actually, it is a great idea. She doesn't listen to us, teachers, but she does listen to her peers. We can give it a shot, it might work."

Principal Kang leans toward the only idea that has been brought up.

"Some of you here are teaching senior classes, right? Anyone, to recommend? Especially Mr Lee Seungri, Ms Sandara, Mr Bae."

"I have Irene Bae from my class," says Ms Sandara.

Mr Bae continues, "I have Kang Seulgi."

Mr Lee grins and suggests almost enthusiastically, "how about Kim Jisoo? She is also in the humanities stream, a literature student. At least she can help Jennie. Both Irene and Seulgi are in the math and science stream."

"Wow, Mr Lee. You seem to be improving, not as complacent as last time. Be prepared to receive the best teaching award," Principal Kang is impressed with Mr Lee's suggestion and has already made up his mind.

"Thank you, Principal."

"Alright, I would need everyone to help me with the proposal for the Kims. Let's get it done by the end of this week."

"Yes, Principal Kang."

"Jisoo, may I speak to you for a moment?" says Mr Lee as he enters the classroom and stands in front of Jisoo.

"Sure Mr Lee, what is it?"

"The principal wants to see you after class. Please drop by his office and don't be late."

"Yes, Mr Lee. But may I ask what is it for?" Jisoo wonders and feels uneasy with Mr Lee smiling at her, almost too happily.

"I am not sure," says Mr Lee still with a huge grin and walks back to the front of the class to start teaching.

"What do you think it is about?" asks Nayeon, who is Jisoo's seatmate. She leans onto Jisoo's left arm, a little tired after a gruelling math lesson by Mr Bae.

"I am not sure, Nayeon... I hope that I am not in trouble."

"I think it will be something good," says Wheein from behind, as she overhears the conversation.

Hwasa who is sitting beside Wheein chimes, "of course, it is our Jisoo! It will be good!"

- At the same time, at the principal's office -

"Hyungnim, Chaerin, how is it?"

"It is quite impressive. I think it is good."

"Anyways, how is this Jisoo girl?"

"She is the top student in the literature stream."

"Not a nerd right? President of the book club," Mr Kim frowns as he comments aloud.

"Of course not, looking at her record, she is a cheerleader too. Hyung-nim, don't worry," Principal Kang reassures the Kims, especially Mr Kim, who worries about his daughter's academic life.
