Without a word, a few Hunters began to march forward, my amused and mocking expression getting on their last nerves. They stopped in their tracks just as quickly as they had started to walk.
"Stop." Alastor's, thick voice demanded. He stood behind me, close enough that I could feel the warmth that his vessel produced; still quiet alive.
The Hunters widened their eyes to full circles as Alastor slowly, but surely wrapped his bulky arm around Julian's slim neck. Surprised, I gasped and stumbled backward into Alastor's vessels body.
"What in the Devil's name do you think you're doing!" I hissed under my breath, glaring up at his passive, emotionless face, which stared straight at the line of frozen-with-shock Hunters.
"Winning." He replied with his usual and characteristic one-word answer.
"Fück off!" I hissed up at him again, wrapping my fingers around his huge arm and pulling, struggling to get away. Alastor was lucky I was going easy on him and using only the strength of humans on him. "Let - go - of - me!" I yelled through gritted teeth while squirming in his tight grasp. Alastor didn't say anything, and continued to stare ahead. I lost my patience - or whatever I had left of it and snapped, letting my anger flow freely through me.
"You stupid, pathetic, idiotic, fücking -" I was cut off as the Hunters roared and charged forward, their weapons flashing in the headlights of the car.
"Stop!" Alastor yelled, but was to no avail. The Hunters kept coming forward, forceful and threatening. "Or I snap his throat!"
"That doesn't make any sense, you idiot." I mumbled as I watched the Hunters ease up, their previous fierce expressions changing into ones of confusion and weary. "Humph, pathetic."
"I snap neck." Alastor warned in his broken English. "If you take step again." The Hunters completely froze in their places now, staring at each other and then at the two of us. They were only a few feet away from us, but I could see two or three left behind, standing with Anna, peering at the commotion Alastor was causing.
"Human inside - die." Alastor explained and the reply he got from the Hunters, for that gibberish sentence, was so satisfying.
"What?"
"You can't -"
"Why?"
"Just let him go please!"
"We just want our comrade back."
"Move. Back." Alastor ordered. I guess I didn't regret summoning him that much anymore.
"I guess you aren't that big of an idiot. . ." I muttered to him instead. He nodded at my remark like the illiterate he was, but continued to stare stonily ahead at the shocked Hunters.
"You can't - you won't -" A man, as broad shouldered and burly as Alastor's vessel, said, stepping forward with defiance clear in his stance. "Your precious demon prince won't survive."
"No, I will survive - inside this body. Julian will be gone, but I will - and can - still animate this body if I wanted to." I explained, still in Alastor's grasp. "And to be honest, just to annoy you, and anger you, and provoke you, I will." I added on with a smug tone.
"Argh!" One Hunter, a woman with blue dyed hair, screamed and began running forward.
"You might want to stop her. . ." I urged on, looking at the man who had spoken before. He seemed like he was the one in charge. "I doubt that my. . .comrade will hold back on his word."
"Thea -" The big man beckoned but the blu haired lady did not listen. She ran past them all - struck frozen with the sudden change of events and outcomes - and ran right toward me, glaring at me. I calmly gazed back from where my head was positioned in Alastor's clutch.
"I hate you!" She screamed. And just as my mouth began to twitch up at the corners, into a rueful, cruel smile, Alastor took his hands and gripped the sides of my head, pulling at Julians dark hair. Then, snap! My gaze suddenly, forcefully moved away from the blue haired woman and to the side, as Alastor snapped Julians neck.
He wasn't supposed to do that. This wasn't supposed to happen.
It hurt, but not so much - for me. I wanted to scream at Alastor. He wasn't actually supposed to snap my neck. I had told him - secretly, in our minds - to only bluff. A few of the Hunters screamed out, many stood still. I went searching for Julian inside out heads.
Julian! Julian! I screamed over and over. Stop playing! I swear if you're still in here. . .
But he wasn't. I couldn't feel his annoyance, his calm, his anger or any of his emotions at all. I couldn't hear his voice or feel his thoughts in my own mind. He was gone.
Julian. . .don't go.
