"Against contrary belief," Marlene grunted, as she blasted several robots across the snow-covered forest. "This is not my ideal morning."

"So you don't like waking up before the sun and taking down enemy bases?" Clint asked, firing several arrows from the jeep as Natasha drove through the forest.

"Not when I wake up to Tony's singing," Natasha grumbled as she swung her leg out, kicking away an oncoming robot. "It's dreadful. Automatically puts me in a foul mood."

"Hey!" Tony's voice objected through the radio as he flew above everyone, blasting the metal offenders. "I'll have you know my singing is Oscar-winning level! Ask Blondie!"

"First of all - what the shi - "

Marlene's voice cut out as one of the robots flew up from behind, and attacked. It was honestly easier than one might think. Apparently, when you blast them with one of the special guns Marlene was working on, a hole will magically appear in its center.

"Sorry, there was something almost as ugly as Pierce tried attacking me, but thank you for your concern," Marlene said sarcastically at the worry that was radiating off her silent companions.

"Sorry, Marls," Steve answered, driving across the snowy ground on his motorcycle. "I was confident in your fighting abilities that I forgot to be concerned."

"And just to prove my beautiful singing, I'll sing you a song," Tony's voice broke through the chaos of the battle. "'Iron man is hot, the greatest of them all, and he killed all of the bots.'"

"That was a terrible song," Thor's thundering voice rang through their ears, but was followed by small laughter. "You midguardians are very funny."

"I agree with Thor, that was horrific," Marlene grumbled. "Besides, it's a Grammy, not an Oscar. And your lyrics needed some work."

As the battle raged on, Marlene fought alongside her brother. After all, it's been that way for nearly a century, why stop now?

Marlene was testing out her new quantum whip. Essentially, it was a whip that grew as it extended. She especially loved it since it was made out of an alloy she and Howard. Technically, it was their last project ever created together . . . sorta. It was one of Howard's unfinished projects. When Marlene stumbled across the plans, she experimented, attempting to come to the same end goal Howard was.

Thus, when it was finished, not only did Marlene make the sturdiest and most flexible metal, but she felt like she did something for Howard. At the time, she was still drowning in her grief and guilt. As odd as it sounded, it gave her some area of the closure.

Marlene was pleasantly surprised with the results her whip brought. With a minimum of one flick of her wrist, a robot's head or another limb could be severed.
