Afternoon Frights

You were washing the dishes peacefully while Kai'sa sat the couch with a magazine. She had spent most of the day in a meeting with KDA's manager to talk about branding. Not how she wanted to spend her first day back from her honeymoon, but she supposed it was better than a bad day.

Though she didn't know how she felt about the girls trying to find out what you two did.

Still, you had officially been married for a week now. And it was wonderful.

Newscaster: And on today's afternoon news....

You looked up and frowned. You always hated the news. Always so negative.

Y/N: Hey, Kai, mind if I change it?

Kai'sa didn't look up. She just nodded.

You took off your apron and turned off the sink. You walked over to the couch and sat next to your wife. You picked up the remote and changed the channel.

After surfing the channels, you found one that caught your attention.

It was a scary movie that you recalled watching when you were a teenager. You smiled while Kai'sa looked up at the familiar music.

Y/N: Oh. This brings back memories. We went to watch thisnin theaters for one of our dates, right? When we were Juniors?

Kai'sa said nothing. She just sat there and watched the screen. She slowly turned to you with an uneasy face. You noticed how quiet she was and turned to look at her.

However, she had her face buried in her magazine.

You slowly began to grin when you saw that she was shaking.

You pushed pause which caught her attention. She looked up and noticed that you were looking at her.

Kai'sa: It's fine. You can keep playing it.

Y/N: You sure?

Kai'sa: Yeah. AbsolutAHHHHHHHHH!!!

Kai'sa immediately jumped into your lap when you kicked the coffee table. The sudden noise startled her.

She held you tightly while you just smirked.

Y/N: Guess you're still just a scardy cat.

Kai'sa pulled her head away to glare at you.

Kai'sa: You jerk! You totally did that on purpose!

You just played dumb.

Y/N: Did what?

Kai'sa: You know what you did!

You just wrapped your arms around your wife and switched the channel.

Y/N: We'll watch a scary movie another time. How about Animal Planet?

Kai'sa just sat in your lap and pouted.

Kai'sa: Fine.

She then smiled.

You took her into your arms without hesitation.

Even if you were the one who scared her.

Y/N: No problem.

You stood behind the bar with your friend as you prepared to open. Since the bar, fondly named the Loose Cannon, was short staffed for the night, you offered to help.

Wasn't the first time.

Jinx: So, how's the married life treating you? You seem happier.

You just smiled.
