After the revolutionary war, Tatsumi was able to survive the fight with the emperor. No longer willing to stay in the Empire after seeing so much death, so he leaves in search for a new start in his life, and this journey starts with a girl named Ry...
Ryuko: I'm sorry Tatsumi... This is all my fault... You got dragged into all of this when all you ever wanted was a chance to restart... Why? Why did you have to save me? You could've avoided all of this if you'd just be selfish for once!
The young woman bursted into tears as she mourned. Punching the ground in frustration so hard that it cracks beneath her fists.
Ryuko: All this time, you cared the weight of everyone on your shoulders and didn't even ask for as much as a damn thank you! It's not fair dammit! Why you? Of all the people in the world why you!? Why for me...? A bitch who didn't have the guts to confront her friend!
As she slowly got up and looked at her hand that looked brand new despite the beating it received.
Ryuko: A monster...
She her body went numb, the pain in her body vanished and as she stared up into the dark grey sky, she noticed that there was no moon, no stars, just emptiness. Her eyes which were once filled with rage and fire were now just as empty as the sky she was looking at.
Ryuko: I think I finally get it now, what you were feeling... It was despair... .
Ryuko got up and picked up her blade, as she started running towards Honnouji Academy with one thing and one thing only on her mind. She later steals a motorcycle and starts to head over to Honnouji.

Ryuko: If you can fight through hell for me, than I'll do the same for you... I'll repay everything I owe on this day, either that, or I'll just have to go out like the monster I am...
She drives off, her face dried completely of any tears and replaced with a look of empty determination as she prepares to fight Ragyo for the last time.
*End music here*
The rest of the gang, no longer having Ryuko to fight for them, tries to figure out what their next step is going to be.
Gamagoori: Matoi and Tatsumi are gone so there's no need for any shoulda, woulda, coulda.
Inumuta: I wonder what Ragyo's plan is, luring Ryuko to Honnouji like that.
Mikisugi: Whatever her plan was, it can't be good.
Sanageyama: Hey if Matoi can kick Ragyo and Nui's asses, that'd save us a lot of trouble.
Gamagoori: Don't get overconfident. We're talking about Ragyo and Nui here. Matoi, Tatsumi, and Lady Satsuki together were no match for her. Even with Ryuko's newfound power, I doubt it'd be that easy.
Nonon: Your buzzkill.
Senketsu: Ryuko, is in so much pain right now. She's scared, confused, and the only person that could give her true comfort is gone. No wonder she's lashing out. If she does this on her own, I can only imagine what's going to happen to her... Oh, why am I even talking? It's not like anyone can hear me.
