Kill the Regret

Senketsu starts to get teary-eyed and jumps into Sukuyo's arms before Mikisugi enters the room posing as usual.

Mikisugi: Sorry to interrupt, but how is Ryuko doing?

Brazaro: She's stable as far as I can tell, but there's one thing that just doesn't make sense and that's the fact that she doesn't have any wounds or scars on her chest, but instead there's nothing. It's inhuman.

Senketsu: What was that!?

Mikisugi: Easy Senketsu. We get how you feel. When that place blew up it was you that managed to pull Ryuko back to safety. You need to stay calm, for her if not then to honor Tatsumi's final wishes.

Senketsu: You don't mean that he's dead do you?

Mikisugi: If you're worried about Tatsumi I'd hate to break it to you but even with his healing factor, I doubt he'd be able to survive the explosion with those injuries.

Senketsu and the rest of Mako's family started to tear up at the thought of Tatsui dying. In the short time that he was there, he'd made an impact on all of them.

Senketsu: Dammit! I didn't have the time to go back and save him. The only thing I could salvage was the other half of his sword. And his last words... He probably died thinking that he failed us again.

Hearing Tatsumi's name Ryuko begins to twist in turn in her bed.

Ryuko: No... It isn't true.

Ryuko was having a horrible nightmare. Replaying the events that happened last month over and over in her head. Getting thrown away by Tatsumi, the smile he gave her. Even after figuring out that she wasn't human and the daughter of Ragyo he still sacrificed himself with a smile on his face. It killed her a little more on the inside after every replay of that memory.

Ryuko: 'No... No, it can't be true. He can't be dead. He couldn't have died, not like that. I-I need him, he's the only one I know who's like me. No, he's alive, he'll be alive. I just need to find him. Yeah, that's all. I need to just find him. He's probably off healing up somewhere just like I am. When we meet again he'll welcome me with open arms just like he always does.'

Ryuko finally stopped turning in bed and her breathing stabilized.

Mikisugi: What was that all about?

Brazaro: Ryuko and Tatsumi were very close together, it would make sense that she would be horribly traumatized by what happened.

Senketsu: He's also the only person who isn't fully human. He's the only person she can talk to who would understand how she feels right now. For him to have died, especially like that...

Gamagoori then shows up with Mataro with him.

Mataro: I'm sorry dad. I looked everywhere but I couldn't find her anywhere. I'd figured if I stuck around Honno town that I'd find her somewhere but I got stuck there and all I could do was survive out there.

Brazaro: Save your tears guys. She's a Mankanshoku, there's no way she's gonna die that easily.

Gamagoori: Listen, boy! No matter what I will bring Mankanshoku back! I'll devote my body and soul to get her back to you safely!

*Cut music*

Satsuki was chained up naked in a similar cage to what Tatsumi was in. For the past month every day, she would hear the screams and grunts of pain from Tatsumi's torture, before looking up to see her mother walking in.
