Dad, This is what i have become

I never could express my feelings,

I never could hurt a friend,

I never could win a race,

I never could be the quiet one,

I never could be the liked one,

But now ill never do these things,

Because, i never could stand up to my Dad.

I never will write a book

I never will drive a car

I never will have a boyfriend

I never will have children

I never will die with my friends

Because i couldn't stand up to my Dad

I never had a chance to make bad decisions

I never had a chance to make the right ones

I never had the chance to meet my new brother

I never had a chance to get really drunk

I never had a chance at life

All because i couldn't stand up to my dad

I look down on the earth from atop my cloud

And yet again i wish i could have stood up to my Dad
