Another human in a monster town

It's been around two weeks since you moved into this little village-like town, and so far you loved it here! The monsters here are great, many of them helped you in one way or another and you were really grateful.

One thing though, you were the second human in this entire village and the other human, who's name is Kris, doesn't seem interested in getting to know you, which, of course, is a bummer, but after some failed attempts to talk to them, you just kind of stopped, and decided to do your own thing, settling down and getting used to your new neighborhood, your new school and now even your job.

A cashier, places you made it to. But at least it was a simple job requiring little to no skill and your employer was a chill monster who you now call a "friend." His name was Sans, a skeleton that you call "A pair of lazybones" more than his actual name, but he calls you a "Stargazer" more than your actual name, so you two were even.

You laugh, wondering where the nickname comes from as you turn the page of a children star book- You don't stay up that late at night for stars to come out, school and job takes that energy away.

Thinking about that, now is probably a good time to start heading to job from the school's unused classroom, your most favourite place in the whole building. You loved how soft the golden carpet felt under your hands, you loved the small organized bookshelf full of books about stars, humans and monster tales, that was also used as a tv table. The tv wasn't the newest, but it was enough for the monster children to watch tales on.

You also loved how the scattered toy cars looked in the room, even though the most usual visitor of this room was you. At least at the moment. And a little play town was in a corner right across the tv, with many other toy cars, toy monsters and toy humans. And to make it all better, star stickers were on the empty walls and ceiling. A 10/10 place, if you could live here you probably would.

You got up and put the book back into it's place, though for a brief moment you thought about taking it home for the night and giving it back later, but you knew that if the wrong person was in the hall, you'd be done for (you are totally not thinking about Berdly, the annoying egoistic bird). Maybe committing this small crime would happen another day, today is done for and you are making your leave.

,,Kris! Hurry up, no one's here right now!" you heard a deeper female voice and froze mid-opening the door. You recognized it, that was what probably shocked you the most. Next shock came with what she said.

Her name was Susie, a lizard(?) monster who you were and still are intimidated by. You were almost as tall as her, she was still a bit taller still, her look was the usual "don't care" killer stare, well until she disappeared two days earlier mid-class and came back the next day nicer than ever AND on time!

And she was disappearing with none other than Kris, the human you were interested in since the start. They followed up behind her, clearly not forced and just weary of who could be hiding here. The answer was you, but you weren't giving yourself away now if you could see where these two disappeared to two days in a row.

,,Good that you didn't bail on me, phew..." she sighed while gripping on the supply closet handels and Kris just stood there, waiting.

,,No one followed us this time, right?" Kris shook their head and Susie grinned with a ,,Great."

She then opened the closet doors a bit violently and darkness was coming out, making the halls seem like it was midnight, which scared you and now you're confused. Just what the fuck is going on?

,,Let's go K- WUUUAH!" Kris pushed her gently in and you were sure they chuckled before they leaped in. You stood there, gripping the unused classrooms door, you watched that with horror in your eyes no one else could see. What the fuck just happened?

And before you could leave the room to investigate, the floor beneath your feet broke apart and now you were falling. Where? Either somewhere or to your death. Though you never took drugs or any substances, this just doesn't feel real. Such a shame that the cold hitting your skin is real.
