"Bombarda!"
In one swift motion of his wand he fired the spell, it zipped across the room slamming into an old bookcase sending it tumbling along with other objects. Honora wanted to stay hidden but had to quickly get away from getting crushed. She held her breath almost coughing from the thick dust that filled the air. Thankfully he didn't notice her almost gasping for breath as he walked through the dust that settled around the now bigger mess.
After everything cleared she now could see Malfoy in full light. He stared carefully at what seemed like a cabinet, hidden under a black cloak. It took him a moment to remove the cloak but he did it quickly and stared up at the Vanishing Cabinet before him. Draco inhaled briskly at the sight of it, now that he found the cabinet he had much bigger problems to worry about.
"This is what you were looking for?" Startled, he immediately pulled his wand to the voice behind him. He only partially faltered when he saw it was Honora, but with her scarlet and gold robes colors flashing it only reminded him that she couldn't be trusted, if not that he didn't want her intruding on his work. "Put your wand down." She walked closer pushing his arm to fall by his side.
"You followed me?"
"After I heard that disgusting display of–well I don't know whether to call it affection or desperation from Parkinson–I felt like I needed something to distract myself from my only thought of throwing myself down the steps. You need to be careful Malfoy. I don't think I need to remind you how one mistake–"
"Please don't tell me about mistakes Lestrange, you have more than enough for the both of us." He hissed. "If you really think that then you don't know anything. Why do you think they didn't give you that mark sooner? Asked you to be a Death Eater when they asked me?"
"Right. Then why didn't they ask you to do this?" He waved his wand toward the cabinet almost with a smirk on his face.
"Mother says it's because I've got too much going on. I think it's for a different reason–but your guess is as good as mine." His eyes fell to Honora's forearm but he didn't reply to her thinking of all the possible reasons Voldemort had asked him to do this egregious task. Draco let out another deep breath after awhile before looking to the cabinet once more.
"It's broken." His head darted back around to Honora who looked the cabinet up and down though it seemed perfectly fine to her. "If it wasn't before, it certainly is now from the spell you so ignorantly fired."
"Shut up–You certainly are a know it all, no wonder you fit right in with Granger."
"You're jealous that the Dark Lord assigned me to be friends with the Golden Trio?" Honora scoffed and almost laughed as Draco's face twisted. "Please I'd be happy to switch places with you." He looked her up and down grimacing as a playful smile appeared on her lips.
"Right–while you were acting like a sniveling brat the past two years, I've had the mark and been doing his work. So if you think I know more than you it's because I do." The pair shared a brief pause. "I'm. .sorry." They met eyes once more, Honora was shocked that he had apologized and sounded so sincere. He looked away awkwardly still gripping his wand and seeming as if his eyes were going to tear up. Honora knew this life was not for fragile people, and while Draco had the appearance of being put together he really wasn't. This would break Draco, just like his father. Narcissa was right to worry about her son.
"I've got to fix this. That's how we're going to win."
"Well then fix it. And be more cautious coming in here." Honora turned on her heel to leave but felt a bit bad for him.
"What even is it?" She turned and questioned, looking up and down the tall cabinet.
"A Vanishing Cabinet. .That's all I can say."
