Shen Yi blinked an eye open, it locked onto System 078's furry figure and his fingers twitched. Shen Yi reached out and poked the cat's cheeks experimentally, his eyes lit up slightly and he grabbed the kitten to place it on top of his chest. "Hm... fluffy..."

"Yes, I'm fluffy!" System 078 agreed instantly, all the other systems called him fluffy too! Senior 003 especially liked petting him, it was really nice. Shen Yi seemed unhurried as he continued to stroke the kitten with absentminded movements. Then, he sighed as if he was soaked in a hot bath after a freezing day, "Explain more?"

"Every world Host Shen Yi will transmigrate into is Open-World, this means it is created from movies, stories, or even unformed imaginations! It came into existence because of the emotions given to these stories by the creator and consumer, like for books it would be the writer and reader. The hate, love, disgust, and many other emotions are all used to nurture these worlds," System 078 explained passionately.

Shen Yi didn't respond, his eyes were closed and he looked an inch away from going into eternal slumber but a soft acknowledging hum occasionally indicate otherwise.

"Each world can be turned into parallel or alternate universes because of the emotions given, worlds have their own consciousness. But, not all of them are good so we have to deploy transmigrators to fix them," System 078 said.

"Like sometimes the Male Lead has too big of a harem and it'll end in an unending world war or a major villain gets a transmigrated soul and the world rewrites the balance poorly by turning the original protagonist into a second rate villain to compensate. Our job is to fix them."

"Oh," Shen Yi finally made a noise aside from the hums.

"I'm the Whitewashing System! Our job is to whitewash the characters that the host will occupy, some of them are really horrible while some are misunderstood, some are even framed because the protagonist is the rare 'evil type' made by the original creator due to the new trend where people like reading or watching the protagonist being evil instead of good!" System 078 explained hastily.

"No." Was an instant reply from Shen Yi.

System 078 deflated instantly, "No?"

"Is there OOC?"

System 078 tilted his head at the change of topic, "Out of Character? Weird, a lot of other hosts also asked this question to their system. No, of course, there isn't OOC. If there's such a thing, we would just copy souls and recondition them to fit our purpose. We need new and unique methods to deal with things, that's why we have individual hosts because free will is something nobody can copy."

"Oh, that's great," Shen Yi said.

"Host must've been worried!"

"Not really," Shen Yi denied lazily. "What if our mission failed?"

"If we fail, there's no such thing?" System 078 was even more confused. "There's no harm done, another multiverse would just be created in its place. The host just needs to do his job and the results are free for all."

Shen Yi got even more comfortable on his spot. "Hm..."

"Is host ready? We can go now!"

"...Can I sleep for a bit?"

"..." System 078 stared at his host dubiously, did he hear that correctly? "Host... I didn't know your humour was so dry, it's okay! I find it funny too! Let's embark on our first journey, we'll be great friends and conquered the worlds!"

Shen Yi looked dead inside. Who was joking?

"Wait, Host!" System 078 popped out a book, it was rather thick considering it had almost four thousand chapters. Staring at the thing, Shen Yi's already dead expression turned into ashes with how dead he felt at the moment, was he going to have to read that crap? System 078 didn't notice because he continued blabbering on, "This is the book that the world we'll enter first is based on, apparently the plot ran away! Do you want to read it or have a summary?"

"Summary."

"After the summary, you'll be directly transferred into the world," System 078 looked a bit chagrined after that. "Because my experience points is really low... and my level is also really low, I can't transfer any of the original body's memories. The only thing I can do is give you the book and allow muscle memory to be retained."

"Oh! Because I'm system 78?" He chirped. Seventy-Eight in Chinese is pronounced as Qi Ba, which sounds similar to Shiba. Shen Yi dashed his hopes rather bluntly after that, "No, because you act like a Shiba puppy."
