Tatsumi: Damn, I see why you want answers so badly now. Losing someone close to you like that. It hurts like hell.
Ryuko: Me and my dad weren't close at all, but his death was a wake-up call for me. I never really knew anything about him, so right then and there I decided that I'd find out who killed him and why. What he wanted to tell me, and what this scissor blade is, but so far, I haven't gotten a single damn answer yet. I also need to know why he made you Senketsu.
She activated Senketsu and used her sword to bust through the trap door and fell into the basement. Only to find nothing in there anymore. Disappointed, she gets Mako back on the scooter and then heads back home.
Ryuko: Well, that was a waste of time. I was hoping to find more clues down there but got nothing.
Tatsumi: Mikisugi was the one who made us fall in the first place right? Maybe he knows something about what happened.
Ryuko: Maybe.
The scooter she was riding then started to slow down as she was running out of gas.
Tatsumi: Well, that's unfortunate.
Ryuko and Mako had to get off of the scooter and walk it all the way back home.
Mako: Sorry dad got you a broken scooter.
Ryuko: It's no problem, the gas is just busted is all.
Mako: You know Ryuko, you're not alone anymore, because now you got us in your life. And by us, I mean me, Senketsu, Tatsumi, and the rest of my family. You know we all love you a lot, right?
Ryuko: Yeah, never had any doubt.

Tatsumi: Hey Ryuko, if you ever need someone to talk to about your dad, don't hesitate to come to me ok. I know how it feels to lose someone, and even if you two weren't close like that, I can tell you're still hurting from it. So, don't shy away from talking to me about that, ok?
Ryuko: 'H-He understands how I feel? Oh yeah, he lost his bro, and probably more than that if I'm being real... And he's still willing to help me through all of this? Why? As a matter of fact, he's been willing to go through all kinds of craziness for me, he didn't even ask for anything back, did he? I know he wants Incursio back, but even before then, he did the same thing. He didn't say anything about me when I got Senketsu for the first time, he just goes out of his way to protect me even though he gets himself hurt. Just why the hell does he do all of this for me?'
Ryuko: Why?
Tatsumi: Why what?
Ryuko: Why do you insist on helping me, I know you lost a lot already, and you're still willing to put yourself through all kinds of hell for me so why do you do it?
Tatsumi: Well, I do it because I know how it feels to lose something and it's pretty damn lonely, to say the least, so I wanted to make sure you don't have to feel that way as well. Besides you're my friend Ryuko, so I wanna do anything I can to make sure that you're happy!
