Best Friends

"We're gonna be best friends forever." Vinnie said as he bent down to pick a flower and give it to you.

You couldn't help but start blushing and deciding to wrap your small arms around him. This little blonde boy you met at the park was now gonna be your best friend.

"Y/n/n!" Vinnie shouted as he knocked on your bedroom door. Vinnie wanted to finally drop the bomb that he was hopelessly in love with you because there was this gut feeling telling you that there might be a chance that you'd also feel the same.

"Y/n?" He didn't wanna barge into your room in case you were in there doing something and he didn't wanna invade your privacy.

"She's not home." Vinnie heard a voice and turned around to see that it was Y/f/n, your best friend and one of your roommates. Another one of your roommates had opened the door for him and now he knew he should have texted.

"Oh where is she?" He asked. Fidgeting with the rings on his fingers,hoping that you weren't out with someone.

"I think she went out with this one guy." She paused for a moment as if she was lost in her thoughts. "He has his septum pierced,his name starts with a J and I'm pretty sure you know him, because I have seen you guys interact in parties."

"Is his name Jett?" Vinnie asked.

"Yeah him. I mean if you want to wait for Y/n after her date go in her room, i have to go visit some family. So I'll see you later Vinnie." Y/f/n said walking down the stair and leaving the house.

Vinnie decided that it was best to leave because if he stayed it would have broken his heart more.

This all broke his heart. The girl who kissed his bruises when he would fall off his skateboard.The girl that comforted him through his breakups. The girl that he has been madly in love with for the longest time was seeing one of his best friends.

Vinnie couldn't even be mad about this because if you made each other happy then he could live with daily heartbreak of you dating his best friend.

He'd wish he had told you sooner because maybe he could have gotten over you or maybe Jett would try to go for you.

This was all too much for him as he drove around L.A, wasting time on road to try to avoid seeing you with Jett at the Hype House together. But he knew that he couldn't hide from you forever.

Vinnie has been home for a while, he thought that the best way to cope was to cuddle with Hera and watch anime. So that was exactly what he was doing.

He had actually started to feel better until someone knocked on his door. Vinnie ignored it as he burried his face into a pillow.

Then the person started to knock again, but this time there was a voice too.

"Vin? You in here."

Vinnie's heart started pounding in chest when he heard that it was you.  Until he remembered why he was snuggled up to Hera instead of skating or hanging out with his friends.

"I'm sleeping." He shouted. But that didn't stop you from coming in this time.

"Hey Vin." You had the biggest smile on your face and you looked really pretty. He almost forgot how to breathe just by staring at your beauty. No one was as beautiful as you.

"Hi Y/n." He simply said still in his bed.

You took a notice on his mood realizing that your best friend was upset at something.

"Hey Vin, are you okay?" You asked as you started to play with his hair. "You know you can talk to me right? You're my best friend and I'll always be here for you."

Vinnie's heart broke at the words "best friend"sure you were best friends but he always dropped hints. You and him and a flirty friendship and Vinnie should have known that being flirty was just the dynamic of your friendship. He should have known better.

He felt selfish for wanting to distance himself from you just because he couldn't handle the heartbreak to see you with his best friend. But it was slowly killing him and he knew that he had to do it sooner and not later before he does something stupid.

"I don't wanna be your friend anymore."
