Y/n stared at her gallery on the phone, she looked at pictures of the time she spent with her friends and JJ, she missed all of it. However now they've all moved on with their lives, John B and Sarah were married, she was happy for them but a part of her felt uneasy when she looked at them, because if happy ever after existed why didn't work for her?
Kiara had to leave for boarding school at the time Y/n found out she was pregnant, but now they meet from time to time. As for Pope, he finally got the life he was entitled to, he pursued his dreams and still is out of the island studying for his master degree.
The only one she could count on to be there for her was Daniel. She couldn't be more grateful to have a friend like him.
"I don't need to remind you that you aren't supposed to use your phone during work" Daniel spoke to the girl who was sitting looking at her phone
"Last time I checked I was the manager" Y/n replied sarcastically
"Jeez you're so rude I'll just get back to work" Daniel rolled his eyes
"As you should" she posed her two fingers up
"For real though, what are you doing out here?" He slapped her hand joking around
"Leave me alone, I was just lost looking at pictures," she reacted "but I'll just get back to work right now"
"Y/n there's something I want to talk about," Daniel interrupted her as she was about to get back inside
"Can it wait until we get out of work? I just remembered I need to write some things down at the cashier" she smiled cluelessly
"Uh yeah sure" he sighed, he was ready to tell her but Y/n wasn't making it easy for him to, he was afraid he would lose her friendship and her trust after all these years when all he wanted to do was be there for her.
"Back there I got reminded of the pogues, my old friends, do you think I ever cross their mind?" Y/n asked Daniel as they were both working at the bar
"I don't know if it's because I was a Kook but I never liked those guys," Dan responded
"I miss them, life used to be so easy back then, we would sneak out, smoke weed, party" Y/n pouted remembering those times
"If they missed you too, they'd do something about it," Dan said
"Yeah you're right"
"Y/n we need you at the kitchen please" a coworker shouted
"I'm coming!"
Rafe picked up JD as usual and was driving him home
"Can we go get mom at work?" JD asked
"But she'll be home in a little" Rafe explained as he was driving
"But I want to see uncle Dan too" JD pleaded
"Okay then" Rafe looked at JD from the mirror and smiled as the little boy was applauding
Y/n and Daniel were walking out of work together as they ended their shift,
"Hey, Dan what did you want to talk about earlier?" Y/n asked
"I uh... It's not-"
"Mom! Uncle Dan!" JD's shoutings interrupted them as he ran towards them while Rafe was walking behind him
"It can wait," Dan said with a half-smile
"What are u doing there?" Y/n snickered as JD threw himself into Daniel's hug
"Yo you're strong," Daniel let out as he pretended JD shoved him
"He insisted on seeing Daniel, that's why I brought him" Rafe explained "but I really have to go now,"
"Oh okay then, thank you so much for dropping him off" Y/n hugged her brother,
"See you"
"Come on now, we're going home too" Y/n turned to JD
"Mommy can uncle Dan come over for dinner" JD begged
"Sure he can," Y/n reacted with a smile and looked at Dan "if you're not busy, we'd like you to join us"
"Yeah sure, I'd love to" Dan accepted
They spent the evening together, Y/n cooked dinner as JD and Daniel were playing together, she just peeked at the boys from time to time, happy to see her son having fun and thinking of how at least he had his uncle's around to fill the emptiness of the one who was missing, who always would be missing.
