"Lily! LILY!!!!"
Before she could turn around, the boy had launched himself onto her. They were tangled on the floor, laughing. "What now, Sol?" She asked.
"Nothing, I just wanted to hang out with you!" Sol replied.
"We should be studying." Lily retorted.
"But playing with you is fun! Wayyyy better than reading those old books with ten million pages!" He explained.
"Reading is part of the assignment."
"That's because our teacher is a sadist! C'mon, I'll take you out for lunch. I know a place with the best food on the planet!"
Before Lily could do anything, he dragged her off.
Even at the age of 12, they could feel that magnetic pull. Connecting them.
2 years later...
"Lily! What're you doing? Got time to vibe?" Sol called, running over.
"Sol, you're a literal king. How do you have so much free time?" Lily asked, looking at him.
"Benefits of being royalty, I guess." He replied, fidgeting with his coat. "Alright then, I'm gonna say it as a statement so you can't say no, your king orders you to go hang out with him. That's a command."
And he dragged her off again.
The magnets attached to them were so close to being put together.
4 years later...
"LILYYYYYY!!!!!"
This idiot again. She turned over to look at Sol, who was holding two popsicles. "I got you ice cream~"
"Seriously? Sol, I'm busy."
"So?"
"Sol."
"What?"
"This is a library."
He paused. "Oh. Well, I'm the king, so I can do whatever! We can go outside if you want, though."
They walked outside, eating the popsicles. Every now and then, Sol would try to steal hers. Lily would always pull away.
They sat down under a tree. "Hey, uh, Lily. I, uh...wanted to say something." Lily looked up. "Okay then. Say it."
"Well...you're my best friend and...and...ah, forget it! I don't know how to- I'll just-"
And without any warning, he grabbed her and kissed her on the lips.
The magnets clinked together at last, under the warm summer sun.
6 years later...
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN I CAN'T MARRY HER?" Sol demanded.
"I mean exactly that." His father replied, sighing.
"B-But....why?"
"Her family's poor. They have nothing."
"I love her, father. I don't care about her money."
"You're the king. You can't afford to-"
"I can't afford to what? Marry the girl I love? Just because her parents are poor? Is that all you car e about? Money?" Sol asked. "Is that why you married mom? Because she's royalty? Because she's rich?"
His father didn't say anything.
"You know what, father? I've wanted to say this for a long time."
"I hate you and I wish you were dead."
Sol walked away.
Another 2 years passed.
Sol's father had, reluctantly, let Lily marry him.
The two were happy. They needed nothing else.
And then...darkness fell.
Let's not say anything else.
Lightning lit the sky ablaze. Fire crashed against brilliant light.
The world was engulfed in light.
She stood over his unconscious body. Uninjured, while his clothes were ripped and burnt under the force of his own fire.
"If saving you is a sin...then I'll gladly become a sinner."
A flash of light. The girl was gone.
