Karl wakes up, immediately remembering the beautiful flower he saw the previous day. He ate his favourite cereal, packed a lunch, and his bag with his books, quills and ink again, and rushed to the field without even the thought of grabbing his coat. He runs on the footpath that leads to the meadow, and sees the glowing of the flower still. Karl was secretly relieved to know it was still where he left it.

He walked over to the flower, and noticed another person besides the flower. He boldly sat right next to the person. "Hi, my name is Karl, Karl Jacobs! What's your name?" "Me?" Replied the being. "Of course, theres no one else here!" Says Karl. "Oh my name is Nick, but my friends call me Sapnap sometimes."  Karl immediately replies with "Nice to meet you, Nick!", already knowing they're going to be best friends. They start to get to know each other better, and become friends before lunchtime.

Sapnap asks Karl about the flower, and Karl replies with "You know, I'm not sure on how this small flower managed to grow in this huge field of lavender, but I've been taking notes on it, and I've learned a little bit about it." Sapnap asks if Karl had tried to touch it to see what would happen, so both men decide to unplant it, and care for it.
