     As I left the clearing and headed through the woods I came to an old white 2 story building. I walk inside inspecting the caved in ceiling and partial second floor. I check the time making sure to not be late-3:36. "I can make time and get home by 4." I think out loud as I run an kick off a fallen beam to land on the second floor. Looking out the window I can see a ledge leading to the roof. I step out and slowly work my way across, jumping to hoist myself up to the tin platform. Looking around I take in the gorgeous valley leading from the city. Cautiously gliding over to a dog wood tree I step up on its branches to see the sun on its way towards the mountains. Though I'm not sure why, there's only one thing on my mind, "Sam would love this place."

        I glance at my watch reading 3:58 and look behind me I see the shadow of the tree on the abandoned warehouse. I clear my mind, focus on where I wanna go and fall backwards towards the tin roof. With a small dark cloud of smoke I shadow jump home appearing behind the house and going in through the back door. "Just in time hand me that jar of dragons blood and the vase of lavender blossoms." My mom said as she placed a jar of crushed egg shells and salt on a shelf in her display case. I walk over carrying the requested vase and jar handing them to her as she organized her cabinet. "Ready for the test?" "I think so I've practiced a few today without problems." I say rather excited for today's lesson. "Alright, well, let's head down to the vault and get started." We walked into the living room and to the bookcase sitting in the walk just below the stairs. Pulling on the book labeled 'learning by moonlight' the book shelf opens inward and we step in through the passageway and down the wide gradual staircase. The passageway was a freezing stone tunnel leading down to a big gorgeous library. It has 2 story floor to ceiling book cases, a big stone fire place, and beautiful Victorian furniture from my grandmother, Madame Elizabeth del a Rosé. We stood in front of the hearth in the center of a large round rug, decorated with a dragon on a tower, that I hope to one have in my bedroom one day.

      "First task is shadow jumping, think you can handle it?" She spoke with questioning doubt as she placed an antique stool in front of the fire to cast a shadow. I paused before jump into the gloom as if it were a portal. I hurdle through the space like darkness launching from the large shadow cast by the antique couch. "Alright well done now on to levitation. Seeing as I know how much you practice this one we'll make it a little more challenging. I want you to lift yourself over the couch and this stool back in it's place. Got it?." "No problem." I mumble as I crack my knuckles an loosen up before holding out my arms and breathing deeply. As I began to rise so did the stool. Lifting to it's rightful place under a desk and me in front of the fire place with momma. "Nicely done dear I'm impressed but there's still a lot of work to be done we've only make through a forth of the big book. Let's see how well you can freeze time." She declared with excitement. "All right." We both closed our eyes taking a big deep breath as we joined hands exhaling a long icy cloud. Opening our eyes mine a bright silvery blue, hers a deep Almondy Hazel. We look around to find a fire that's not flickering and the chandelier no longer chimming with the drafts. "Well that's it for today you did a great job sweetie. Now, Let's unfreeze time so I can get dinner stared. Joining hands once more we closed our eyelids drawing in a cool breath through ours noses and exhaling a warm orange Aura bringing us back into the active reality.

      Exiting the vault and closing the large steel door at the base of the steps we make our way back to the bookcase. "You wouldn't mind if I went to see a friend before dinner, would ya momma?" I ask politely. "No I think that would be fine. What's their name?" She looked at me intrigued. "Sam, I just wanna show him this cool building I found on my way from school." "Alright but don't be late for dinner and be careful we don't need to go showing off unnecessarily. Remember they like us in theory but as soon as we reveal ourselves they turn in fear." "Yes ma'am. " I kiss the top of her forehead and exit the passage through the hidden bookcase. "Love you I'll be back in a bit!" I called as I stepped out the door pulling out my phone to text Sammy. My heart flutters at the thought of the nickname.
