After the revolutionary war, Tatsumi was able to survive the fight with the emperor. No longer willing to stay in the Empire after seeing so much death, so he leaves in search for a new start in his life, and this journey starts with a girl named Ry...
Tatsumi takes off his jacket and tosses it over to her.
Tatsumi: I saw you eying it, so I thought I'd hand it over to you.
The girl looks at the coat, and back and Tatsumi, and then back at the coat again and then back at Tatsumi. She looked stunned and surprised, but still careful.
Girl: [silently] Merci beaucoup.
Tatsumi: Huh?
Girl: I said thank you.
Tatsumi: Oh, no problem. But you should go now, little girls like you shouldn't be stealing from people.
The look of happiness quickly vanishes from the (4'6/137.29cm) girls face.
Girl: I am not a damn child! And my name is Maeve...!
She realizes that she just told Tatsumi her name.
Maeve: Merde.
Tatsumi: Okay, "Maeve" you should probably get going, those guys back there don't look to friendly.
Maeve looks over to see the swarms of men chasing her.
Maeve: Merde!
She takes the coat and runs off. She was surprisingly agile for someone of her stature, climbing buildings and jumping off walls in the like. Tatsumi stood there in shock as the people around him rushed by.
Tatsumi: That was weird. Hopefully she's going to the place I told her about.
The boy continued to walk until he spotted a ship near a big sea, with a sign on the top that said: "For Tatsumi."
Tatsumi: Wow, even after all of this you still work as fast as ever boss.
He gets aboard the ship and starts sailing off. At first everything was fine and dandy but, eventually it got pretty lonely.
Tatsumi: This is the first time I've gone out completely by myself huh? It feels strange. I wonder if this is how Akame felt after she left...
He starts to think about Akame, about Night Raid again. He quickly slaps himself out of it.
Tatsumi: No, I can't go thinking about that, their gone. That's the risk they took when they joined Night Raid so then... Why do I feel so bad about it? I avenge their deaths, right? *Sigh* I guess I'm just tired, I'm gonna go take a nap and hope that I'll sort things out later.
Tatsumi goes back inside his ship and falls asleep on his bed.
-Timeskip to 2 days later with Tatsumi on the ship-
...
...
Tatsumi: Dammit! I'm such a freakin' idiot! I mean who just leaves a country without a goddamn plan first!
The now ex-assassin paced back-and-forth on the ship contemplating his life choices.
Tatsumi: I mean come on Tatsumi think! You've rarely left your damn village and now you think it'd be a great idea to leave a country! What the hell is up with your worthless idiot!
After throwing his little temper tantrum, he sighs and looks up to see what looks like a city with a giant building at the top.

Tatsumi: Oh, it looks like I've finally reached land... I don't think that's normal for a city. Whatever it is, I just hope I can start anew here.
Meanwhile, a girl with a red streak of hair was standing in front of the very same weird-looking city.

Girl: I made it. I'll finally be able to get the answers I want.
A/N: And that's the end of the prologue again. I'm always welcoming criticism because this is my first story and I don't really know for certain if I'm really good at this or not, just please try and keep it respectful. Anyway, thanks for reading through the beginning of this story and I hope you enjoy the rest of it when I eventually decide to make them. So, this is gonna be my first story ever, so I apologize if my writing is bad. Also, because this is my first-time writing fanfic on any website, I'm kinda just winging it as I figure out how things are working, so I'm always welcoming of anyone telling me how to make my story better.
