The woman's eyes started to water before she quickly wiped her tears as she smiled back.

Upon hearing this the boy almost leaped out of his bed.
Tatsumi: YEAAAAA- ACK!
Najenda let out a short snicker before quickly regaining her composure.
Najenda: Be careful you only just woke up.
Tatsumi: I'm just so happy that everyone can live in peace now! I can't wait to celebrate with Akame and Leone!
After hearing this the woman's smile faded almost instantly, much to the boy's chagrin.
Tatsumi: Oh no. Don't tell me they didn't make it.
Najenda: You were out for about a month after the empire was toppled, so naturally things have proceeded as they should and peace has been restored. As for the rest of Night Raid. Akame went off on her own journey to search for more corrupt people and end them. As for Leone..... Akame told me that she suffered too many injuries during the final fight and Although there was no body found, it's safe to assume that she has died.
Hearing all of this threw the boy's world through a loop. As he was now processing all of this information he hung his head down as tears began to form.
Tatsumi: 'Akame, she's gone, she's gone and she thinks all of her comrades are dead. Dammit if only I could have woken up sooner and Leone. She probably died thinking I'm dead too.'
Najenda: Akame also told me that she parted with her with a smile and a goodbye, so if she did die. She died satisfied.
