"This club will be my mission for the year. I'm calling it S.I.T.E. 'Students Improving The Environment'." Emma was saying to Manny and Mickey as the three of them walked to school. Emma was going on about the environment club she was starting, not that either of the other two girls were really listening.
"Cool," Manny muttered.
"We'll have letter-writing campaigns and endangered species week," Emma continued to go on about her club.
"Wanna hear my mission?" Manny asked, stopping Emma's rambling.
"Shoot," Mickey said, just wanting to move on to a new topic.
"I wanna be hot. Not cute. Not adorable," Manny explained, unzipping and taking off her jacket to reveal a tube top that showed most of her stomach. "Hot."
"Wow," Emma said.
"There's no way I'm getting dumped this year for being too young.," Manny said, pulling the scrunchie out of her hair. The three girls continued to walk towards the school Manny made eye contact with JT, who was skateboarding on the other side of the fence next to the three girls. Mickey noticed JT staring at Manny, even after Manny looked away from him. JT continued to stare at Manny as he skated, only to crash into a parked car and fall to the ground, Mickey being the only one who seemed to notice.
As Manny and Emma continued to the school, Mickey stopped, walking over to where JT was pulling himself off the pavement. "Here," Mickey said, reaching her hand out to the boy.
"Thanks," JT said, taking Mickey's hand as she helped pull him to his feet.
"You do know it's rude to stare right?" Mickey said as JT picked up his skateboard.
"What?" he asked.
"Manny. You were staring at Manny," Mickey pointed out.
"I-I wasn't it," JT lied.
"You should know lying to me is pointless, buy now," Mickey said. "You were staring at Manny because you think her new look is hot. Am I wrong?"
"No," JT answered. "Why? Are you jealous?" Mickey laughed at JT's words.
"Ew, no," Mickey laughed. "Just next time you're staring at someone, trying not to walk into traffic, You're lucky the car you hit was parked."
"Speaking of guys staring, that guy over there is staring at you," JT said, as the two started towards the school.
