Tw for fights and injuries
Also I love this ship and ill carry it to my grave
Davey looked up and abruptly dropped Les' hand and sighed in exasperation. Would they ever give it a rest?
He turned to his sister. "Go build a snowman with Les or something."
Sarah nodded. "Don't get into trouble too."
Davey rolled his eyes, running up to the scene.
"Morris!" he yelled, more tired than angry. Every day he saw his boyfriend with more and more bruises, but with a bigger smile on his face each time. Of course Crutchie had won most fights. Of course he had.
Morris raised his eyebrow. "Two now?"
"Makes it equal."
Crutchies face broke out into a huge grin that could have melted the thick snow surrounding them.
Davey wanted to grin back, but couldn't. They stole his coat, his hat, his scarf and gloves.
He walked right up to their faces. He hoped he seemed bravely than he felt.
"Give it all you got!" Oscar sneered, pushing him back lightly to provoke him. Without thinking, Davey grabbed his arm and twisted it behind his back, making him yelp in pain. He held it there for a few second before letting go. Oscar glared. Davey glared back. Then, without warning, Oscar punched him hard in the jaw. Davey tasted blood. His gaze hardened, and he raised his fist, but Crutchie plummeted his crutch into Oscars stomach causing him to double over. Davey breathed out, smiling, but saw a snowball fly right into Crutchie.
Morris stood there, throwing snowballs, that weren't soft, into the small boy, making him recoil and fall into the snow.
Davey felt anger take over all of him. He wanted to kill Morris. He wanted to kill both of them. He wanted to slap them into oblivion. Or a coma. Whichever came first.
He was about to run up to them in full force, but stopped himself.
Instead, he knelt by Crutchies side and helped him up. With one last death glare at the brothers he helped Crutchie walk away from the scene. Once onto the streets, he draped his jacket onto his boyfriends shoulders. "That should be a little better."
Crutchie tried to take it off. "I-I don't need it." he stuttered through chattering teeth.
Davey placed a kiss on his head. "You do. Don't try to give it back."
"W-what about y-you?!"
"Ill be ok. Were almost at my house anyway."
Crutchie nodded. Davey smiled to brighten his mood.
"Pretty good fight back there, huh?"
Crutchie grinned. "You were amazing."
"Thanks. You were too."
They turned the corner to his house and Davey pulled out his keys. The moment they stepped inside, warmth flooded their bodies. Davey locked the door behind him, and made Crutchie sit on the couch and covered him with blankets. He made two steaming mugs of hot chocolate and cuddled next to him. "I'm sorry." he whispered.
"For what?" Crutchie whispered back, burying his nose into Daveys hair.
"I wasn't able to protect you enough. I feel pretty crappy knowing I can't even fight for my boyfriend."
"Hey, you did fight for me. You fought Oscar pretty good." he set his hot chocolate on the table and hugged him tight.
Davey melted into the hug. "I guess... It just- It hurts seeing you having to put up every day with them, Crutch." a few tears escaped his eyes. "One day, they'll go too far, and I won't be able to stop them-" He began shaking.
"Hey, Davey. Davey, I promise, I'm gonna be here, with you, always. I love you."
"I love you too much for anything to happen."
"It won't."
"I can't live without my ray of sunshine."
"You won't have to!"
"But-"
Crutchie cut him off with a soft kiss, that made him feel warm and fluttery inside.
Once they pulled apart, Davey sighed and nudged their noses together.
"If they do another thing-"
"Davey!"
Davey kissed him again, stroking his hair. At least he was safe and with him right now.
