The forest was always whispering to her. It never really said much, or at least nothing that's audible. The forest had a language of its own, older than most life itself. The only day she understood it, was the day her parents died.

Four years ago...

"Kai, Jackson, you guys are walking too fast!" The young girl yelled. She was walking through the forest which embodied their home with her two older brothers. It was the trio's favorite pastime. Whenever they weren't doing school work or practicing their 'abilities.'

"Then keep up slowpoke!" Jackson yelled over his shoulder. The younger stopped and opened her mouth to give a snarky remark, but instead ended up screaming out in agony. A sharp pain shot through her head, and she fell to her knees gripping her hair. The brothers would instantly turn around, Kai yelling out as they both ran to their younger sister.

"The forest keeps saying run, it's telling us to run..." the young girl repeated over and over again.

"What do you mean it's telling us to run?" Kai asked as she repeated the words. Concern was evident on both of the brother's faces. Jackson looked behind his sister, and he instantly paled.

"Kai, we need to go. Now." Jackson says, standing up. The other looked at him and stood up, picking up his sister in the process. They were face to face with a human figure who appeared to be made out of flames. Everything behind him was burnt and dead. When he touched a single branch, the whole tree lit on fire. The tree was the only thing burning, which was weird to them, because the flames should be consuming the whole forest by now.

"Jackson, take Rose and run." Kai would whisper, handing his brother their little sister.

"Kai, what are you going to do?" Jackson whispered. Kai stared at Jackson, looking at his younger sister one last time as if to embed the image of her into his memory. When the figure outstretched a hand towards the girl, her scream seemed to echo throughout the forest. Seeing her sister start to cry, Kai picked up a twig and threw it at the fiery being.

"Hey dip shit, look at me! Come and get me!" he said as the twig quickly burned to nothing at the bare touch.

"Kai!" Jackson yelled as his brother started to run.

"Tell mom and dad I love them, gods please tell them I love them!" He said, running away with fire engulfing the trees behind him. Tears streaming down his face, Jackson ran the opposite direction of Kai.

It felt like he was running for an eternity. With his younger sister, who was now asleep in his arms, he managed to make it to the other side of the forest. Entering a clearing, he became face to face with an important realization.

He managed to find himself in the wolf's den.
