"and it was enchanting to meet you.."

Takes place right after the events "Thinkin' bout you".

Confused and conflicted.

These were the words that described Rainbow Dash's emotions. She didn't know what to feel after Soarin's little cheek kiss stunt last night. Sure it felt nice; but... wait what?

It felt nice? Did she like it? Did that mean she liked Soarin now?

In all honesty, she had been contemplating feelings for him, but she brushed it off as a passing crush. But after he kissed her.... Something inside her went off causing a warm feeling that completely enveloped her and made her feel a bit giddy, not that she'd admit it though.
Dash sighed as she lifted her head up from her pillow and looked around.

Her eyes immediately landed on Soarin, who was sleeping peacefully in the bed across from her but with a slight frown on his perfect face. Her eyes widened as she realized what she just thought and she internally groaned, so as to not wake up any of the other Wonderbolts. She was really really confused. How Soarin managed to make her feel like butterflies trying to escape from their cocoons inside her stomach was beyond her.

She sighed, again, and glanced at the clock which read 6:09 am meaning she had less than an hour of sleep left. She didn't want to waste it. Escaping butterflies could wait a few damn hours. With one last longing look at Soarin, she let her head gently fall back and drifted off into Luna's dream realm.

The alarms signaled that it was time for yet another day of training and practicing. The only Wonderbolts who woke up almost instantaneously were, unsurprisingly, Wave Chill and Spitfire; who were the most duty bound. The first thing they both did upon waking up, was glance at each other as they looked into the other's eyes while smiling and the events of the previous night replayed in their heads.

Silver Lining, who had also woken up, saw their little exchange and muttered something along the lines, "About damn time...". In Silver's defence, the tension between the two of them had been brewing for quite a long time and they had done absolutely nothing but stumble and blush around each other and it was getting really painful to watch. In fact, all the Wonderbolts would be glad
to hear that one of their most popular ships had finally set sail.
With some reluctance, all the Wonderbolts arose from their beds and said their groggy "good mornings" to each other. Rainbow Dash yawned and stretched as she opened her eyes, only turning to make eye contact with none other than Soarin. They both stared at each other, and like Spitfire and Wave, the memories of last night simultaneously played in their heads; but unlike them, they shuffled around awkwardly and tried to get around each other. It was just as uncomfortable for the ponies watching as it was for Soarin and Dash, perhaps even more so.
Once they finally got out of each other's way, they made their way to their respective locker rooms. Both Dash and Soar in were bombarded instantly by their wingmates, pestering them about their weird behaviours around the other. "Nothing happened between us.....," began Soarin. On the other side of the wall in the locker room, Dash had similar things to say, "......We're just friends, nothing more, nothing less." Although they were separated by a wall, they had just said the exact same thing. Both with a pained smile on their face. The Wonderbolts went quiet until they remembered they had practice and other stuff to do and with that the subject was dropped.

Because Dash and Soarin were such good friends prior to. . . the incident, they were paired for a flying formation which they were practicing for a show. As you can imagine this created yet another awkward moment for the two of them. Honestly, at this point the rest of the 'Bolts were getting second hand embarrassment from their comrades. They glanced at Spitfire helplessly, but Spitfire gave them her signature "I don't give two shits so suck it up" look. Realizing they both had to put aside their feelings and thoughts and be professional, they both put on a fake smile and lined up for practice.
The practice session was. . . interesting to say the least. Both Rainbow Dash and Soarin underperformed which was not like them at all, and with the show being only a few days away, Spitfire, after the session, called them both to her office. "Look, I don't know what the fuck happened between you two, but you need to get your acts together. You both are on the main act for the show and if you underperform you will be replaced. Understood?"

Spitfire meant every word she said, because while she was their friend, she was also the captain and she had to ensure everything was running in tip-top shape. The two ponies in question fully understood that and replied to their captain with a "Yes ma'am," after which they were dismissed by Spitfire.

They both left Spitfire's office and glanced at each other. They both knew there was something going on between them. They both knew they had to talk about it. They both knew they were mature adults and needed to figure out their situation. So, they both asked each other if they wanted to go for a fly, which was quite amusing to say the least. Nodding, they both took off into the sky in silence. They eventually found a cloud where they could talk in privacy. Neither of them faced each other and they were just sitting in silence. It wasn't awkward silence but it wasn't comfortable either. Soarin, who had been feeling very guilty about pulling his little kiss stunt yesterday, broke the silence by apologizing to Dash,

"I'm. . . so sorry for kissing you without your consent Dash. I should've never done that and I should've respected your space. I don't know what came over me and believe me, hurting you or making you uncomfortable is the last thing I want to do. Since the day you've joined the Wonderbolts, you've captivated me and attracted me. The way you do. . . absolutely everything is enchanting and I've never felt more drawn to a pony in my life than I have to you. But, after what I did to you yesterday, I wouldn't be surprised if you never wanted to speak to me again."

His ears flopped down and he looked away from her not wanting to see her reaction. Dash was completely stunned by this revelation because she's pretty much oblivious regarding matters of the heart. But, she too, was drawn to Soarin. She found herself wanting to be around him and talking to him. It was easy to confide in him and he gave good advice and he always helped her whenever he could. She realized that she reciprocated his feelings. She looked to Soarin who was still looking away. Not to mention, he was very good looking; with a muscular body and his gleaming emerald eyes. Dash, no matter how oblivious she was, wasn't dumb enough to ignore her own feelings.

She put her hoof under Soarin's face and made it face her. She simply smiled at him. No words needed to be exchanged. Her eyes gave him the answer he so desperately wanted. This time, sure of their situation, they leaned into a kiss. It wasn't very long, but it was short and meaningful. They pulled apart and rested against each other with Soarin draping a wing over Dash. Dash sighed contently as they both watched Celestia's magnificent sunset, the first of many sunsets they would share together.
