ch. 8

I stared at it blankly.

Blue seemed to look relieved. I eyed him and he looked away nervously.

Outer pointed at it and looked around.
"Did... Did anybody understand that?"

"I heard 'dont' and 'me'..."
Nightmare said.

"Don't me?? That doesn't make sense.."
Ink rubbed his chin, staring at the machine confused.

"You are really stupid..."

"Hey at least im trying to figure out what it's saying."

"It said 'dont look for me'."
Dream decided to say something.

Everyone looked at him, causing him to shrink back into his hood.

"How do you know that?" I asked.

"Well nightmare heard 'dont me', and I heard 'look for' so I kinda just put two and two together..."

"Two plus two equals four!"

I pinched my nose.
"Yes ink. We know that ink."

I turned back to the machine and glared at it. So this unknown person doesn't want us to look for them? But now I'm curious... But we need to respect this persons privacy! But then again, they managed to hack into the machine. That's pretty impressive. I need to know how! But they probably wouldn't tell me how, since they don't want us to look for them-

"Uh... Sci..?"

I snapped my head toward ink.
"What?"

I noticed his eye lights were now question marks.

"You were talking out loud... It was kinda awkward?"

I sighed.
"Nevermind that- what do we do about the monster that decided to send strings through every au?"

Ink grinned.
"Look for them, obviously!"

"But wouldn't that be disrespectful? They hacked the machine just to tell us not to look for them..."
Dream said.

"Yeah, but what if there lonley? That message sounded pretty lonely, what if they need a friend!"

"We should look for them."

Dream jumped at the sound of nightmares voice. I looked to the corner of the room to see nightmare spin around in the old chair, his elbows on the arm rests.

"It wouldn't hurt to go look... We probably wouldn't even find them anyway, we have zero clues as to who or where they could be. Plus I'm bored.. the only thing we've been doing is raiding AUs, and now we're working together so we can't even do that."

"I don't think we should look... They very clearly stated that they didn't want anyone to look for them, so I think we should respect their privacy. Plus, what if it was an accident that they sent their strings through every single au? What if they were just looking for something?"

I looked at blue. He looked away.

"You know, you've been pretty suspicious for a while now. You always seem to get nervous when we talk about this mystery person. Also, you'd usually be estatic to go look for them. Either your not blue and you've been replaced, or you know who this person is."
I squinted at him and pointed.

By now, the whole room was staring at blue, who didn't seem to care much about that.

Blue pondered for a moment before speaking.
"Fine, I do know who it is. But I'm not giving any information about them. Either give up, or go find them yourselves. I'm not helping. They don't want to interact with anybody."
Blue crossed his arms and frowned.

The whole room was awkwardly quiet before outer spoke.

"Yeah imma dip. I'm a respectful person."
Outer did the piece sign as he slid out the door and into a portal.

"See, outers cool, be more like outer."
Blue motioned to the doorway.

The only people left standing in the room, were nightmare, dream, ink, blue, and me. Excluding blue, that's four people that want to go look for the monster.

Errors pov:

I knew this would happen. I really should've been more careful, but I'm actually extremely stupid.
I sigh as I watch the whole thing from a one way portal while mindlessly making origami stars for the night sky project I'm working on.

I flinch as I hear a portal open behind me. I turn to see blue come through, looking extremely worn out.

"PfFt.. wHaT hAPpenEd tO yOu?"

Blue glared at me and slumped into a bean bag next to mine.

"Everyone wants to look for you... I'm sorry. I didn't know what to say so I just told them I knew."

"I knOw. I saW tHe WhOle tHinG ThRouGh a One Way PorTal. YOu dId bEtTer tHan mE thOuGh. I ProbaBLy juSt woUlD'vE colLaPsEd oN tHe SpoT..."

Blues face lit up.

"You... You saw... That's embarrassing."

I smiled and handed him a chocolate bar. He grabbed it from me and took the wrapper off while I just ate mine whole.
Blue shivered.

"I will never get used to that."

I laughed.

"So WhAt dO yOu tHinK we ShouLd dO abOut TheM?"
I ask.

Blue stares at the screen, watching the group walk out the door of the small lab to start their search.

"I don't know. Play pranks on them? That seems like the morally correct thing to do."

I grinned.

"GreAt iDeA! If ThEy wAnt tO fInD mE, I WonT lEt It bE EaSy..."
