Short IdentityV fanfiction where Luca Balsa is the main character.
The story is inspired by my derealization episodes and recent nightmare.
TW: Violence, implied death, derealization
Deep breaths and momentary flashes of darkness in front of his eyes.
He was running in what seemed like a forest, a dark one lit with bluish silver light of the full moon above his head. He was tired. So extremely tired. His legs feeling like they're about to fall off, he already tripped many times but still managed to get back to running. The sky was covered by the trees above him only letting in some of the light and flashes of the thunder. The wind creating eerie whistling and the clouds sounding like canons in his head.
The sounds were overhelming.
The darkness was overhelming.
The running was overhelming.
He felt gentle rain falling down on him slowly, quieting down his thoughts while making his brunette hair, striped shirt and pants soaking wet. Body trembling with each drop and touch of the wind on his skin. It was unbearabingly painful to run at this point. He doesn't even rememebr what he was running from, only thing he knows is that he's running with a cable in his shaken up hand. The middle of it sparking due to it's shape. A very sharp edges shaped into the letter U, electricity pouring from one end to the other, creating stable voltage between the two. The rain seems to avoid it for some reason.. And the cable looks like it never runs out. He's sure he has been running for a while now, any cable even the longest ones would run out by now.
He's terrified of everything, it just seems like a nightmare but it most definitely is real, it just feels too real.
!!!
A crack. He could barely hear it over the storm and wind. He realised very soon what it was as he was falling face first into the wet mud under him. One of his braces, the only thing supporting his legs, broke. He could barely run with them, without them he can't even walk for more than a minute. A thud with the sound of him falling into the mud accompanied his body making contact with the ground.
So.. so tired.
His eyes blink few times, trying to keep the small part of consciousness he still has.
He just lays there, his legs unable to move.
Actually, his whole body completely numb.
He barely manages to flip over, being able to put his back against the ground and his face facing the top of the trees.
A shadowy figure walking up to him from the direction he was running, sending out shivers down his spine. He immediately tried to stand up once again, ultimately failing. The figure only got closer during his useless attempts at running away.
Luca pleaded the figure to not get any closer, hoping it could spare him. No. Screaming at it for mercy.
When he realised the figure isn't stopping, he grabbed the cable in his hand and with quick movement getting it near enough to the figure for it to get electrocuted.
This was his last and final idea.
What a shameful state he was in.
Laying on the ground, unable to do anything other than tremble in fear. Once such a useful toy, now practically broken on the ground, unable to play it's role anymore.
The cable, sent a shock into the person as Luca planned but it still backfired. The electricity got to Luca due the water everywhere around them.
And this was supposed to be a genius? The infamous inventor Luca Balsa?
Pathetic.
Luca felt the electricity enter his body. The feeling of his whole body getting fried and his blood vessels popping like balloons. It was strangely nostalgic feeling, nonetheless painful. Very painful.
It was like if the thunder has stopped, all Luca could hear is his own despairfull scream and the electicity buzzing in his ears. His body aching by the self inflicted pain.
Black.
Nothing but black.
Darkness.
Not this again.
He.. woke up with painful ache, body trembling and eyes filled with tears. A loud gasp for air followed by deep breaths full of panic escaped his mouth. He didn't realise what he just experienced was a nightmare nor that he had woken up. He got out of his bed, throwing the blanket he was previously covered by away. He started running. He needed to run. Something is chasing him after all. He ran out of his room to the hall, his legs already shaking from the sudden movements, especially without his braces. His breaths seemed like a bell ringing in his ears and his cries and sniffs only adding to it. His steps making the hard wooden floor cracking and creating thud each time his feet touched the ground. He swore that he heard doors open and eyes on him. It's here. Whatever is chasing him is here. He tried running faster only to cause his legs to collapse and him falling onto the ground.
Is he actually going to die?
He feels like he is.
Everything hurts.
His body twitching on the floor, every now and then producing a spark. He attempted to curl up but his legs were not co-operating resulting into him just covering his head with his hands.
The steps of whatever was chasing him getting louder and closer. When they were close enough there was a silent and soft- no. Worried voice. "Luca..?"
That's it, he's dead. This is the last day of his existence in this earth.
A hand reaching out, touching one of the hands covering his head to which he only flinched his whole body. This caused him to move his body including legs that very quickly let him know not to do that. In the pain of that moment he just whined and gasped for air making him cough in order to take a proper breath.
"Luca it's me, Andrew."
He could hear it but couldn't acknowledge it. His mind filled to the brim with throughts reminding him of mist with the weight of an anvil. All trapped in his head.
He just continued to lay on the ground, wheezing, trying to fill his lungs with at least some air. Already forgetting the fact someone was there with him.
His body now completely shutting down once again from the exhaustion.
He felt the light in his eyes slowly dissapear and his cries stopping as he was losing most of his conciousness.
A shiver went through his body along with the twitching from electricity as two hands picked him up, leaving no part of him touching the cold floor. He wanted to struggle out of the grasp of this person but couldn't, his body felt like a puppet, a doll. Nothing more than that.
After a while of walking that felt like hours to him, he felt being put down on something soft, perhaps a bed, maybe soft grass.. Is he still in the forest?
There was a moment where the ground next to him tilded, like if someone sat there. Then a person's hand started caressing through his hair. It felt nice.. his was too tired to fight. Even if he was to die, it hurts too much to continue fighting for survival.
His vision went completely black and he fell asleep.
Andrew just smilled as he noticed Luca was finally calm and soon fast asleep.
