When Wanda finally came to, she almost wished she hadn't. Head throbbing, dazed, and panicked, she sat up on the cold ballroom floor and gathered her bearings.

"About time you woke up," an annoyed voice rang out from beside her, raspier than normal.

Wanda's eyes took a moment to focus. "Natasha."

"Oh, I'm Natasha now?"

"What happened?"

"What, you don't remember the little stunt you pulled? The one that cost us both the spear and the mark?"

Massaging her pulsating temples, Wanda stood. "Can you quiet down please?"

Natasha seethed. "You're lucky I was here. That purple suited freak had you slung over his shoulder before I drop kicked his ass."

"But he got the spear?"

"Well, it was either save the spear or you."

Wanda blinked. "And you chose me?"

"You're insufferable." Natasha wiped blood from her lip, turning to leave. "Stay out of my way, Maximoff. You're gonna get hurt one of these days."

Natasha was long gone before Wanda could rebut. Cursing, Wanda searched the floor for her earpiece, knowing Clint was probably panicking on the other end. Finally, the little beeping bud turned up, narrowly avoiding being stomped on by Wanda's stiletto. Shoving the bug in her ear as quickly as she humanly could, the spy rushed to the exit, searching the crowded, chaotic parking lot for Clint's car.

"Wanda? Wanda, come in!" Clint repeated over the earpiece.

"Clint?"

"Oh, thank God! Hurry up and get to the car before I run you over with it. I'm by the west exit."

"Copy. I'm not trying to be roadkill today."

Wanda halfway sprinted to the flashy sports car idling in the lot, throwing open the passenger door before all but falling into the authentic leather seat.

"You better not get blood in here," Clint snapped. "This is a rental."

"Really?"

"Yes." The older man put the car in drive and peeled out. "Now what the hell happened in there?"

Wanda sighed, reclining her seat. "Natasha had the same plan. We both grabbed the spear."

"And?"

"Neither one of us got it."

"Purple guy?"

"He made out with it and nearly took me with him. What a disaster."

"I agree, tonight was a total failure."

"Great pep talk, coach."

"But it's not all bad. I put a tracker on purple suit's car-"

"Sorry, can we give him a code name?"

Clint peered at Wanda. "A code name?"

"Yeah, so we don't have to keep thinking of purple things to call him. Just a nickname."

"Okay, he's... Scooter."

"Um... okay."

"Anyway," he continued pointedly. "I put a tracker on Scooter's car, which is not as cool as mine, by the way."

"Not as cool as your rental?"

"Not even close. So, with the tracker, we'll know exactly where he takes the spear. But we have to act fast, because I have a feeling it'll change hands soon."
