What if she stayed with him?

Hey y'all, it's me your bestie ✌🏼. Back with another part and I'm very excited to write this one. Idk what else to say lmao so I hope you enjoy the part besties :)

This is not a date. Just picking Doc up from the vet.

Meredith was never a dressy person anyway so she threw on a pair of boots and a jacket over her normal clothes so it seemed way more casual. Finn is a good guy and even though they only talked for a little while last time they met, Meredith knew she felt a genuine connection with him. Plus, he's smart and hot so that's always a bonus.

She finally reached his vet clinic and her heartbeat starting rising a bit as she walked inside. You can do this, it's just a casual talk and everything is gonna be fine, she thought as she waited for Finn. She really hoped things would go right with Finn and that he wouldn't keep any secrets from her, which is what happened with Derek. She's forgiven him after that but she didn't want anything like that to happen again. And she still loved Derek just as much but.. he's got a wife and she had to move on. If it wasn't Finn, it would be someone else.

She snapped out of her thoughts as Finn walked to her smiling. He was in his green collared shirt that she last saw him with and a pair of black jeans. "Hey Meredith! I have an errand to do but Doc will be ready to go as soon as I get back." He said and she noticed that he was holding some kind of kit, probably to treat animals and she suddenly became very intrigued. "I'll come too, I have nothing to do anyway." She said and Finn looked at her with a grin. "I hope you like horses."

She followed him into the barn and looked around at the horses. "What are we doing here?" She said as they stopped in front of a barn and looked as Finn checked on the horse inside the barn who was laying down. "Today, we're about to help her birth her baby." She looked at him in shock and looked at the horse who was whinnying in pain. "Grab a pair of gloves." He said and she quickly put on gloves as the horse neighed again and started laying on her side from the pain. This was gonna be one hell of a night.

She laughed and looked at the baby pony in front of her, who was learning how to stand. "It's a rush every single time and it's all worth it in the end." He said smiling looking at her and how beautiful she looked. If he didn't notice the butterflies in his stomach the first time they met, he definitely noticed them now. He helped her take off her gloves as they walked back to the car and he noticed how her eyes had a sparkle against the silvery moonlight. "It really was worth it, I get why you do that. I feel the same rush whenever I do surgery and today was an amazing experience." She said smiling back at him as they got in the car. He nodded and started driving, unable to speak from the pure joy in his heart just from getting to be with her and from the butterflies quickly increasing in his stomach.

They drove back to the clinic in a comfortable silence with a very gross stink surrounding them in the car from their clothes being covered in hay and horse. Finn was surprised that she didn't complain about it, he hadn't seen too many people do this stuff for the first time before and be fine with it. It's probably because she's a surgeon, getting covered with human blood is way grosser than this. But he still found it very special about her, he couldn't find one thing he didn't like about Meredith.

They get out of the car and walk into the clinic and to a part of it she didn't see before, the part that was his house. "You live here?" She says chuckling as she followed him upstairs. "It's easier and I can go from home to work anytime I want to." He says smiling and walked to the closet to find his smallest clothes and a towel. "You should probably take a shower, it's gonna take a while to get that stink off. I'll make dinner for us Mer." He said giving her the clothes and she nodded smiling and went to the bathroom to take a shower.

Meanwhile, Derek looked at his phone again and again. Mer was supposed to bring Doc over an hour ago and she still wasn't here yet. Maybe she forgot and bailed without telling but she'd never do that, especially since she was so eager to do it that afternoon. He sighed looking at the time and grabbed his car keys and headed for the trailer's front door. "Where are you going?" Addison said looking up at him as she was reading her book. "Going to go get Doc, I'll be back soon." He said leaving a quick kiss on her cheek and walked to his car. Addison loved Doc of course but she didn't feel the same connection to him as Meredith and Derek did.

He started the car and started driving to the vet's clinic. He tried calling Meredith again but she didn't answer, he wasn't gonna get too worried yet, she's just his friend now. He got out of the car and walked into Finn's clinic. He waited for a few seconds and walked to where he knew Finn lived. As he was walking past the stairs, he stopped and looked in shock at a very familiar face. Was Meredith hooking up with Finn? Was this what all the smiling was about earlier? He gave her one more glare after he noticed that she was wearing Finns clothes. He felt a mix of different emotions pass through him as he continued walking without acknowledging her. She was sleeping with their dog's vet.

1094 words! It's only gonna get more interesting from now y'all 😩💙! This was definitely what Derek was thinking when he saw Mer in Finn's clothes on the show. Maybe not the smiling part but the hooking up with Finn part, I wonder if he ever found out that he misunderstood that 🥲. Anyways, hope you enjoyed besties and leave your thoughts if you want to :)
