I turned my laptop off and took out my phone. I scrolled down until I found what I was looking for. I stared at his number for a while before I pulled out the message box. And after a million drafts or so, I’ve finally come up with a simple message. I read it several times before I finally hit send.

“You what?!” “Hey, inside voice please.” “Sorry tita.” She had her brows knitted together and she was looking at me like I was the one who painted Picasso or Mona Lisa or any other painting I don’t even have the idea of it existing, let alone its meaning. “But that was crazy!” She blurted out after finally digesting my words. “I know.” She grinned at me and I’m pretty sure my face mirrored hers. Our goofy grins are so wide that it’s almost painful to watch. Indeed, that was crazy. “So did he reply?” I pursed my lips together. That was the start of everything, actually. That careless message was the match behind everything else that ignited. I took a sip of my latte, then nodded. “Yeah.”
