This time, I'll discuss the super duper easy usage of measure words 个 and 岁。
In chinese, 个 is the most commomly used measure words for things. When you want to state how many do you have of something with 个。The structure is so simple.
Number + 个 + Noun
一 个 人 ... one person
两 个 朋友 ... two friends
三 个 月 ... three months
However, if you are telling the number one then you can omit it. This means you can use only 个 in the place of 一个。It is equivalent to "a/an" in English.
我 要 个 包子。
I want a baozi.
他 是 个 好朋友。
He is a good teacher.
Another measure word I'm gonna talk is 岁，meaning 'years old'. The sentence structure for 岁 is similar to "someone is x years old". And you dont't need to add extra verb when you use 岁。
Subject + number + 岁
我 24 岁。
I am 24 years old.
我 猫 今年 1 岁。
My cat is one year old this year.
With 岁，you don't need add 个 as 岁 itself is already measure word. Moreover, you also don't need to add 是.
我 的 朋友 20 个 岁。✖️
我 的 朋友 是 20 岁。✖️
我 的 朋友 20 岁。✔️
