Summary: Despite what everyone says, Y/n still believes her crush and one of her best friends John B is still alive and sets out to find him. JJ starts to have feelings for her, but little does he know she is already having a summer fling. ————————————————————————
Y/n watched her fellow Pogues carve John B's name into the bark. She was happy they were doing this for him, but for some reason it didn't sit right with her.
"It's great we are honoring him like this but I know he's still alive." She blurted ruining the silence.
Her friends turned to her as JJ still was carving a message for his best friend. Kiara and Pope both gave her sympathetic looks.
"Dammit Y/n/n!" JJ exclaimed throwing down his knife and walking towards her.

"Stop being in denial! You have to accept the fact that he's gone! Hes not fucking coming back!" The blonde exclaimed catching her by surprise.
"Screw you!" Y/n shot back wiping the tears from her y/ e/c eyes.
"Y/n/n wait up." Kiara spoke walking toward her good friend.
"Thanks Kie but I need some space." She looked in her direction avoiding JJ's gaze.
Y/n held her y/f/c flip-flops as she headed for the dock.
Tears ran down her cheeks as she walked a fast pace trying to get out of the situation as quick as she could.
After a few minutes of walking, she settled on the dock dangling her legs over the edge.
Y/n glanced up seeing an incoming boat hoping it was no one she knew. She just needed some space and time to think.
JJ was one of her best friends and it's not like she hated him, but he had never raised his voice at her before and it scared her. He was selfish and probably didn't even feel bad for what he did.
"Y/n?" A deep voice asked causing her to glance up from the deep blue.
The boat came closer and she saw it was Topper. He tied his boat up and came to sit next to her.
"Topper." She replied rolling her eyes at the blond.
"Are you okay?" He wondered taking in her bloodshot eyes and the liquid that stained her cheeks.
"Never better. What do you want, Thornton?" Y/n wondered hoping this jerk would leave.
"Hey, relax. I just wanted to see if you were alright." Topper explained looking into her y/e/c.
