"Oh, now you're pulling the sister card? Well, where were you little brother when she was in her car accident, huh? We were here, from the beginning!" Jules snapped.
"Jules!" Beverly hissed.
"And where were you when she needed a signature from the next of kin, huh? Well, we were here! Your sister? She's more my sister than yours after the way you just left us. So, don't come in here all demanding and family oriented when you were clueless to family a few days ago!" Jules squawked.
"I'm warning you, if you don't leave I am going to throw you out!" King angrily said, stepping closer to Jules.
"Jules, enough!" Beverly stated, grabbing at her arm and pushing her towards the door.
Enraged and shrugging Beverly off, Jules snarled to King, "Don't touch me! And you better stop yelling at me!"
"Jules, I will wipe this floor with your narrow backside if you don't come on!" Beverly demanded.
All the yelling prompted a nurse to enter the room and ask if everything was alright. When no one answered her, she asked that they take the argument out of the room. She explained the importance to keep the peace not only for Penelope, but for all the other patients on the floor. Jules and King stood toe to toe staring at each other angrily with either of them not wanting to budge. Afraid for Penelope if the two of them started a fist fight, the nurse threatened to call for security and that made Jules turn away from King without another word. Beverly followed her as the nurse closed the door. Jules fussed about King all the way down the hall.
"Who does he think he is, huh? And you, taking his side? How dare you?!" Jules yelled as she stormed down the hall.
"This isn't about sides at all Jules, you don't know when to quit. He kindly asked for some time alone with Penelope and you had to remind him of his short falls just like always. You know what, now that I think about it, I bet he's had enough of your jerk-ish behavior. And quite frankly Jules, so have I," Beverly said, walking pass Jules aggressively.
"Well fine, be that way! Y'all are just too sensitive, that's the real problem!" Jules yelled to Beverly's back. Both girls walked out of the hospital in separate directions.
Mean while, King returned to Penelope's bedside and took her hand. At first he massaged it and then he began to weep. He said, "Penelope, if you can hear me I really need you to give me a sign. I can't lose you, not after finding you for a day. I know that I have known you all of our lives, but only as a friend. We need time to be siblings now, I need you. I'm sorry that I wasn't here for you, I really am. I promise if you wake up, I will spend every moment I have making it up to you. Please, Penelope wake up, I need my sister." He placed his head on her arm and continued to sob uncontrollably. He was crying so much and so loud, that the nurse returned to Penelope's room.
"Sir, I'm going to have to ask you to leave. Some of the other patients are complaining about crying from this room. I told you guy's earlier, positive vibes only," The nurse calmly stated.
"I don't care about any other patients, I care about my sister!" King yelled.
"Okay, well, sir I can't take care of your sister if my other patients are uncomfortable. Look, how about you take a walk and then come back when you think that you are calm. I'll walk with you, would you like a cup of coffee?" The nurse asked.
"Do I look like I like coffee ma'am?" King snarled.
"Oh, you can call me Cathy," Cathy opened the door, prompting King to leave with her.
