The cafe she had worked so hard on was ruined, she touched the spray painted counter before going into the back

Whoever broke into her shop destroyed everything, the only reason why they hadn't managed to break into the safe holding her recipes was because she had warded it and put a muggle repelling spell, she took down the wards and pulled out her binder

Many recipes had been in her family for years and if anything had happened to them, her heart would have broken

"Knock knock?"

Hermione saw Daniel coming up to her

"Hi Daniel" Hermione smiled weakly as she stood up, hugging the book to her chest

"Are you okay?" He asked as he came up to her

Hermione shook her head

"I don't know who would do this" she whispered

He stood in front of her, he was not as tall as Draco but he was wider whereas Draco was slimmer

"Where's Scorp?" He asked

Hermione sighed softly

"He is...with his father" she said

Daniel didn't say anything

"Oh?" He whispered after a moment

Hermione nodded

"Is something going on with you two?" He asked

Hermione looked at him

"I don't know" she told him

"My offer still stands, I promise you that I'll never hurt you like he did"

Hermione looked at him and noticed that he was close

"I'm sorry but I don't mean to intrude, Scorp had told me...he said that he didn't want you to be hurt again" he said

Hermione looked down, Daniel came up to her and cupped her cheek

"Give us a chance Hermione, you deserve someone you know won't hurt you"

She looked up to him

He was perfect, he loved Scorpius and she knew that he would keep his promise

But there was just one problem

He wasn't Draco Malfoy

Daniel made her look up and looked into her eyes

"Give me a chance Hermione" he whispered

He leaned down and kissed her softly, Hermione froze for a moment before closing her eyes and began kissing him back, he released her hands in order to cup her cheeks, she wrapped her arms around his neck, he hauled her up and settled her on the counter, his hands gripped her waist

She was trying to see if there was that spark, if there was a possibility that someone else was meant to be her soulmate

He started kissing down her neck, she lets a small moan slip and begins to think that maybe she can find her soulmate in someone else

But then she saw Draco and her heart clenched and she felt sick

She pulled away and payed him away

"I'm sorry Daniel" she whispered "I can't" she told him

Daniel touched his lips

She felt like she was going to be sick

"I'm so sorry Daniel" she apologized profusely "you deserve someone better than me, I'm sorry" she said

He gulped and nodded slowly

"My door is always open Hermione, and don't worry, it won't effect Scorp" he said sincerely

She smiled sadly at him

"You are an amazing person Daniel...but I-I...I'm sorry" she told him

He cupped her cheeks

"It's okay Hermione, I at least got to know what it was like to kiss you once" he whispered

She smiled weakly at him

"I should go" he told her "can I kiss you one last time?" He asked

She knew she shouldn't, it would only confuse her even more, but she felt guilty and nodded

He connected to their lips for a second before pulling away and leaving her store without a backwards glance

Hermione watched him disappear

She leaned against her counter and covered her face with her hands before breaking down crying

A very good man had willingly offered himself to be there for her and Scorpius, someone who she knew in another life would have been the perfect man for her and a perfect father to her son

But he wasn't Draco Malfoy

He wasn't her soulmate
