1.34: Lily and Moony

Start from the beginning

"I'm sorry," Lily cried.

"Whatever for,"

"I should have reached out to you, Elizabeth is an awful woman. You should have to live with her," said Lily, wiping her tears on her sleeve.

"You know whose fault it was," Cassiopeia began, "I gave James a chance to start over, it's only fair I give you one as well,"

"Thank you," whispered Lily.

"I needed my godmother anyway," Cassiopeia replied.

After a few minutes of talking Cassiopeia suddenly remembered her detention with Lupin.

When Cedric told her, he was going to the ball with Cho. She got too excited and accidentally cursed Cho's robes to say, 'I'm going to the ball with Cassiopeia's Big Brother'. Unfortunately, Professor Rayer caught her and issues her with detention with Lupin ...

"She's not complaining Mango," Cassiopeia argued, "I'm doing her a favor"

"Again, Miss Black, it is Professor Rayer, not Mango," The professor said strictly with a glint of a smile. "Detention with Mr.Lupin,"

"Why not you Mango?" Cassiopeia whined.

"Because I said so," the teacher replied and left.

So now she was currently racing against time to reach his office. She slammed the doors open and rushed inside to see the man looking at her with his eyebrows raised.

"I've got 2 seconds to spare. Way more punctual than my attendance to snivellus' class. You should feel honored," said Cassiopeia, sitting down and putting her feet on the table.

"I'm grateful," Remus said sarcastically, "um, your shirt is a bit," he said, indicating the wet patch on her shoulder.

"Yeah, Lily got a bit emotional," she said, glancing at her shoulder, "So lupin, what shall we do for this wonderful hour,"

"Well, if you're comfortable. I would like to know what happened between you and you-know-who," said Remus

"What Voldemort?" she asked

"No I meant Sirius," he clarified.

"What's there to know Moony," she said with a sarcastic grin

"Well one day I'm teaching you how to say my name and the next day I'm told to never reach out to you again," Remus said, avoiding her confused gaze

"So he never to you," she muttered to herself, forgetting his werewolf hearing

"Never told me what,"

"Long story short, he screwed some chick and left forever," Cassiopeia said bluntly

"W-What," Remus spluttered out.

"Yeah- Oh Jane Austen Fan?" She asked, pointing to the books on his desk.

"You read?" he asked sarcastically, in which she faked a physical blow

"You wound me, who would I be if I haven't read the classics." she laughed

"Well if you need any more books, my stash is always open," he said with a kind smile.

"Your book stash or your chocolate stash?" she asked, walking over to the cupboard and opening the third drawer. There was seemingly nothing inside until she knocked six times and a button came up. She pressed the button 7 times and inside was a sugar rush waiting to happen, she got a chocolate frog and turned around to see a bewildered Remus.

"How did you know where it was?" he asked as she threw a chocolate frog at him.

"Ever read 'The Name of the Rose'?" she asked

"Yeah, best mystery book I've ever read,"

"One of my Favourites. The cupboard is the only thing that doesn't match the decor in the room, I suggest a glamour charm so no one else finds it. You're born in March so I opened the 3rd draw. You're born in 1960 but I doubt you have the patience for that so you shortened it to 6. Finally, you told me your favorite year at Hogwarts was your seventh, so I pressed the button seven times." she explained, taking a bite out of her chocolate frog.

"Well at least you remember something I taught you," he said with a smile. "Look, I'm sorry about the whole .."

"not talking to me for like eight years?" she asked sarcastically, she rolled her eyes and smiled. "Well I seem to be in a forgiving mood, feel blessed that Cassopeia Alhena Black is taking your apology and forgiving you on the same day" she added boastfully.

For the remaining hour, the duo discussed their love of books and chocolate. Though there was a lingering thought in Lupin's mind after Cassiopeia left.

Who was she with in the Shrieking Shack?

The day before the ball, Cassiopeia and her Godparents were out in Hogsmeade, looking for the right dress. They entered a shop called 'Dress robes for all', which was pretty convenient. Lily had insisted she try on many dresses for them to see. Cassiopeia didn't seem to find one she liked.

However, James seemed to disapprove of them all:

"Too short, she'll be jumping and dancing"

"No high slit, one wrong move and boom"

"Too exposing, I don't trust those Hogwarts Boys"

"Too much cleavage, I don't trust those Durmstrang guys"

"Not enough layers, what if she spills something and everyone can see everything?"

"Too long, she'll trip and break her ankles"

"Too skin-tight might rip,"

There seemed to be a lot wrong,

"James, she's going in a dress. Not a winter coat." Lily reasoned with James while Cassiopeia was trying on the last dress.

"But she is going with a boy Lily-flower," whinnied James, "who knows where the male gaze will lead him too,"

"That boy was raised by the most respectful man I know," said Lily, raising her eyebrows. She knew why he didn't like the dresses.

Truth was, he didn't want to let her go again. After constant years of begging Sirius, reading about her in the press, and hearing Nico ramble on for years about how great a person she is, he finally got to develop a fatherly relationship. He wasn't ready to let that go.

Cassiopeia walked out of the dressing room with a nervous smile. Her smile was wide and her eyes were filled with joy. She fell in love with the dress. James couldn't say anything wrong about it. He didn't care about her skin exposure. The look on her face could already tell him that she was amazing. His little girl.

"I think this is the one, what do you think James?" asked Lily and Cassiopeia turned to James, a hopeful look in her eyes.

"You look beautiful, little Star," James said.

"Thank you," Cassiopeia squealed and hugged Lily and James. Her godparents paid for the dress, even though she insisted she could get it herself. They wouldn't even let her see the price.

'8 year's worth of birthday presents' according to Lily. When they were outside the Common room, Harry came out of the portrait hole.

"Hi, Mum, Dad, Cassie. What did you do?"

"Got her dress," said Lily.

"Oooh, can I see?" Harry asked eagerly

"No.No.No. You can't, it's a surprise," said Lily, tapping her nose.

"Fine. Come on, Dumbledore wanted to ask you two something," said Harry.

"Bye Cassiopeia," said Lily

"Bye Star," said James, indulging her in a hug.

The family set off to Dumbledore's office, while Cassiopeia headed up to her Dorm. Adrenaline pumping and the thought of the Yule Ball tomorrow.

K, I'm gonna just post all the chapters I have already written and then somebody can private message me if they want to take over the story. I've just had no inspiration and I'm getting kinda over the story.

Have a good morning/night
