If Harry had to listen to Draco Malfoy complain about his bruise one more time, he was going to flip his shit. Harry scowls beneath his helmet, looking at Malfoy chatting with his friends. Malfoy's always complaining about his "injuries" and how much work he put into practice. He's a good player. Harry could admit that much, but Malfoy's still a little bitch. Now, Malfoy plays forward, center at that, so maybe he has some right to complain but still.

Harry Potter played goalie so while yes, he did have more padding, it wasn't his teammates went particularly easy on him! They were brutal in practice and Harry got his fair share of injuries. This had taught him how to defend against aggressors which had come in handy many times. Malfoy wasn't particularly aggressive towards Harry when taking shots but their general opposition led to a heated rivalry. They may work together on the ice but off of it, they were better kept separate.

After practice, the team changed in the locker room before heading out to the bus. Excitement was running high since this was their first away game of the season. Harry just sat in the nearest seat and put his headphones in, depending on his music to let him get in the zone. This worked perfectly until his phone gave him a low battery notification. Fuck. I don't think I brought my charger. He thought, digging through his bag.

"Whatcha looking for, mate?" Ron Weasley, Harry's best mate, questioned.

Harry sighed. "Forget my charger." Barely a second passed before a pale hand popped into Harry's view holding exactly what he needed. "Thanks." There was only one person that pale on the team. Malfoy didn't respond so Harry shrugged it off before being faced with another problem. "Hey.. you wouldn't happen to have a spare battery pack, would you?" Harry's face flushed with embarrassment. He was trying not to ask for too much since it was already a miracle Malfoy was being so cordial already.

Once again, Malfoy simply held up what he needed without responding. He didn't seem to be paying attention to anything other than his phone but if he was interacting with Harry, that couldn't be right, could it? None of them were used to Malfoy acting like this. He hadn't lamented the amount of work Harry was making him do and hadn't even dramatically sighed, as he was known to do when asked for a favor. No, now Malfoy was quiet, unassuming even. Harry hadn't even known he'd been sitting there until now.

Malfoy shook the battery pack annoyedly and Harry's cheeks went hotter. "Sorry. Thank you," He said, taking the pack. Malfoy still didn't respond. Not that Harry wanted to talk to him anyway. He just plugged in his phone, eager to get back to his peace.

"I'm so hungry!" Gregory Goyle, one of the backup players and Malfoy's lackey, complained from the back of the bus. Harry watched as Malfoy, never moving his eyes, reached into his bag, pulled out a bag of Doritos, and chucked it in Goyle's direction. With reflexes much faster than one of his stature warranted, Goyle easily caught the bag.

"Heeeeeeeey! I'm hungry too!" Vincent Crabbe, the forward left-winger and Malfoy's other lackey, whined pathetically. Malfoy repeated his actions and soon enough, Crabbe was munching away to his heart's content.

Ron, hungry from the very mention of food, pulled out his own lunch and groaned. "It's always corned beef. Mum knows I hate corned beef." He poked the sandwich morosely then looked at Malfoy. Harry waited stiffly for a snarky comment about Ron's family but Malfoy didn't bite. Ron decided to press. "Say, Malfoy. Any chance you got any more of those crisps?"

Everything was still. Harry didn't know what he'd expected. Malfoy was never nice and if he was, it was never for very long. Malfoy finally seemed to register Ron's question and quietly pulled out three more bags, each a different flavor, and offered them out. Ron grabbed his favorite. Malfoy turned his wrist, offering the bags to Harry. He hesitantly took one and the remaining bag disappeared back into the depths of Malfoy's bag. His eyes had never left his screen through the entire interaction.

What the hell is up with him today? He wouldn't shut up before we got on the bus. Maybe he's trying to get into game mode too. Harry concurred as he munched on his chips. At least Malfoy wasn't being a prick. The ride lasted another hour and a half before they reached the stadium they'd be playing in.
