prologue.

Nini sat in her room trying to process what just happened. She just full out embarrassed herself in front of THE Ricky Bowen. She'd had a crush on him for ages and she couldn't believe that just happened in front of Ricky Bowen.

She wanted to be with Ricky so badly but there were two main reasons that could NEVER happen

1.He's. Ricky Bowen, he could never be interested in a girl like Nini (or so she thought)
2. She promised Gina she'd never date her brother

She thought back on the moment as it kept replaying in her head. She forced herself to not let the tears fall remembering it was natural. Everyone goes through this at one point in their life. At least every girls does

"Why did he have to be the one to tell me"  she whined not being able to get her mind off of it.

The twelve almost thirteen year old girl decided she'd take a nap hoping it'd help her fall asleep, but as soon as she was halfway asleep she heard her mom yell up the stairs.

"Nini! Richard Bowen is here to see you! He's on his way up!" At the sound of that her heart dropped she has already embarrassed herself enough earlier, she really didn't want to do it again.

Each step that Ricky took towards her door, her heart rate increased tremendously. Why was he here? Did he want to talk about what happened earlier?

A number of questions ran through Nini's mind before he entered her room.

"Hey" he smiled as he opened the door. He made his way towards her bed and took a seat at the edge

"Oh hey" she said trying to hide the shakiness of her voice that came from the nerves

"I just wanted to make sure you were okay. I tried to find you after school but you were already gone"

"Oh yeah my mom came to pick me up after the entire thing happened, and I left early.You're not disgusted?"

"Why would I be disgusted?" He chuckled lightly "it's natural and all girls have to go through it. Granted, that was an...interesting way of finding out but you have nothing to be disgusted about" he said and a smile broke out on her face.

Earlier that day Nini was in Gym class and had a very unexpected visitor. She'd received her first period.

As Ricky was dropping off papers to the gym teacher he noticed a large red spot on Nini's gym shorts, and quickly took his sweater off wrapping it around Nini's waist.

He whispered in her ear "you have something on your pants" causing her eyes to widen and her to rush off to the bathroom where she called her mom and was on her way home within the next 30 minutes.

"It was just um super embarrassing. I don't know why nobody else told me. Especially the teacher"

"I guess they just don't care about you the way I do" Ricky said and Nini's eyes immediately widened

"H-huh?" She stuttered out

"You know I care about you Nini. You're like a really good friend to me" he nudged her shoulder

"Oh-ye-yeah. Really good friends" she chuckled feeling embarrassed all over again "I uh-I can't believe you came all the way over here to check on me"

"Like I said before. I care about you. Plus I was on my way to the skatepark and your house is on the way"  he laughed a little bit

"Thanks for thinking about me" she smiled slightly "oh and here's your jacket. I washed it and everything so it's totally clean"

"Keep it" Ricky smiled at the girl. The jacket was too big for Ricky anyway. He knew he'd probably grow into it but he'd much rather Nini have it. "Well I gotta get to the skate park" the 14 year old said getting up from the bed

"Oh alright, thanks for checking on me Ricky. I really appreciate it"

"Of course, bye Nini"

"Bye Ricky"

Present Day

"Ricky! How many times do I have to tell you to stop leaving the orange juice out of the refrigerator!" Gina exclaimed with an irritated tone. Ricky had tendencies to leave things out after he finished with it and Gina was left to clean up after him

Nini was sitting in the kitchen with Gina scrolling through Instagram on her phone running across a picture of her celebrity crush, Tom Holland

"My bad Gi, I got...distracted" he smirked

"If by distracted you mean bringing yet another random girl into our house you can spare me the details, I'd rather not hear" Gina said immediately making Nini shift uncomfortably. She hated the thought of Ricky with other girls, even though they weren't even together.

"Oh don't act like you don't bring Ej here all the time" Ricky argued

"Exactly! Ej! One person. My boyfriend. The girls you bring here are always random girls who think that they have a chance with you."

"Hey! They're not all Random!" Ricky stupidly defended

"Oh yeah? What's the last ones name?"

"Uhhh— Cynthia! Wait no! Her name was Charlotte"

"I saw her leaving Ricky, her name was Carly"Gina said with disappointment evident in her voice

"Oops"

"You know, One day you're gonna get the wrong one, and you're gonna get caught up"

"Ricky Bowen does not get 'caught up' you should know that by now Gi"

"Yeah yeah yeah whatever Ricky. Just don't come crying to me when it happens. I'll laugh" she said before dismissing the conversation, and trying to gain Nini's attention

"Nini!" Gina called out for the third time finally catching Nini's attention

"Huh?"

"Come on, we're gonna head to my room" Gina said and Nini nodded getting up from her seat following behind Gina

"Or you can come to my room" Ricky put on the smirk that made Nini want to just melt

"In your dreams Bowen" Nini scoffed keeping up the act that she found Ricky repulsive but that couldn't be further from the truth.

What she really meant was 'in my dreams'
