I stood outside the entrance of my school, taking a deep breath before I stepped through the large gates. It's Monday. Usually, I like Mondays but today already felt like it was going to be absolutely exhausting.

"Good morning Asuna!"

"Hello!" I smiled and waved at the younger students greeting me.

Popularity isn't something I thrived to get but apparently when you're cheer captain, it comes naturally. I thought that only happened in cringy Netflix movies but turns out it's true.

From my freshman to junior year, I'd just been apart of the team but my main goal was to be the captain and now, my last year in high school I finally got that chance.

I can honestly go without the popularity but you don't just pick and choose when you want to be popular and when you don't.

It gets out of hand sometimes. Like people making fake Instagram accounts of me and sending out very incriminating messages or that one time I was followed home.

But the worse for me are the guys. They'd approach me daily asking me to go out with them. I'd calmly reject them and move on with my day but does a 'no' stop them? Well, I wish it did.

They'd be back with more ways of asking or trying to persuade me into 'at least' hooking up.

Usually I'd complain about it but my bestfriend, Alice Zuberg, made it very known that I was being a little inconsiderate.

"There are so many people that want to be known or at least appreciated and here you are turning guys down at every second."

She isn't wrong, there are many girls who are jealous of the popularity I never asked for, wishing that it was them who had boys pining at their feet.

Trust me, if I could somehow transfer that to them, I would. But I don't mind it as much solely because most of them are actually caring, sweet and respectful.

Like Eugeo Kirigaya for instance.

He's one of the nicest guys I've ever met. He's never asked me out though, not that I'm upset about it or anything. I'd still say no. I'm just not looking for a relationship right now. Distractions from my schoolwork and my team are the last thing I need.

I met up with Alice at our lockers. At the beginning of our freshman year, we requested to get lockers next to one another and since then, we've always had them right beside each other.

"Good morning," I nudged Alice's shoulder, smiling brightly at her.

"Hello my Darling," she responded cheerfully.
