DID I JUST SAY I LOVE YOU? OUT LOUD?

Jett stood there in silence for a few seconds.

"Kehlani,I- I love you too."

Thank the lord he said it back.

"But I'm not mad at you. However I am absolutely pissed at Cruz. He had no right to say any of that. I know I'm not a rebound. What we have is real. A rebound wouldn't connect to someone like we did."

I wrapped my arms around Jetts neck and kissed him.

For a second I was afraid this was it. This is how we end. I was relieved when I heard him say he wasn't mad at me.

"What are we going to do about tomorrow?"Jett asked,

Shit I completely forgot about family dinner.

"Who knows if Cruz will even show up now. Once he gets called out or gets himself into trouble he goes off the grid for a few days."

"All I know is I'm excited to finally meet your family." Jett said.

I smiled.

"They're going to love you."

We walked back to the trailer to get my stuff. I checked the time and it was around 10:15.

"If a Kehlani ever gets into a fight with someone, my moneys on her. She's totally a badass."

"Thanks River,that's good to know."

"Of course she's a badass, why else would I be dating her?"

"Okay enough. Get a room you two." Barcia said.

Jett and I told River and Barcia goodbye before leaving.

My parents were once again out of town for a business meeting and wouldn't be getting back until tomorrow morning,so Jett and I decided to crash at my place.

"So what should we do tonight?" Jett asked.

"Watch a movie,order food,make out. Oops did I say that last one out loud?"

"I'm down for all three,especially the third one." Jett winked at me.

When we got home I brought my bag upstairs and changed into an old tshirt and shorts. Jett was sitting in the sunroom.

I walked into the sunroom and sat beside him on the couch. He wrapped his arms around me.

"I still can't believe Cruz showed up today. This all seems so unreal."

"I know Lani,but I want you to know that I won't ever let anything happen to you."

Jett pulled me closer.

My phone started ringing. It was Ellie.

It's 11 at night. It must be important because she's usually asleep by now.

"Hey peaches! What's up?"

"Holy shit I'm so glad you answered. Mom and Cruz are in another one of their scream battles. He snuck another girl into the house.  Dad took his keys and phone. Kehlani I can't do this much longer. I need to get out of this house now."

"Don't worry I'm getting my keys right now. Go out and sit on the porch and don't hang up."

She nodded her head.

I muted myself so I could talk to Jett.

"I'm so sorry. I know it was just supposed to be you and I but El needs me."

"You act like I'm nit coming with you. Now come on, we're wasting time."

Before I even got up off the couch Jett was halfway to the front door.

My heart melted. It was a breath of fresh air to see Jett not get mad,but help me go get El.

I unmuted the call.

"Ellie, are you on the porch? We're almost there."

"Yes and hurry please K. Dad just pulled down the street and I don't want to be here when he hears about Cruz."

I motioned Jett toward their driveway so he knew where to go.

El hung up the phone once she saw we were there.

"I'm sorry to bother you guys, but I didn't know what to do."

"Ellie don't apologize you didn't do anything wrong. Let's head to my house and gets some sleep. It's been a long day and we have an even longer day tomorrow."

Ellie looked exhausted. Her eyes were swollen from crying. I led her to my room and put her in bed. I covered her up and not even five minutes later she fell asleep.

I walked back downstairs to see Jett waiting for me.

"Figured that wouldn't take long." He said.

"She was out in five minutes. Now where were we?"

Jett smiled before pulling me in close to him.

I took his hand and pulled him into the sunroom.

He sat down,pulling me down to his lap.

We made out for a good 15 minutes.

During those 15 minutes both of our shirts came off,but that was it for tonight.

I laid down beside him and pulled a blanket over us. He wrapped his arms around me before falling asleep.

I fell asleep shortly after.

Family dinner is going to be wild tomorrow.
