The word perpetuity exists for two reasons. One is to remind us that forever is real and the other is to tell us that the way to defy time is to believe.

I knew this day would come and luckily, I prepared for this. I made sure that when I finally get to this point, I would have the chance to do what I love for the last time.

I didn't believe it at first. As a child, I have loved magic and was fond of watching my Uncle play tricks before my eyes. As an adult, I got to experience the pain of being in love and began hating it, forgetting that magic and love are one and the same.

My life as a man wasn't something I could be proud of. I smoked. I dropped out of school. I used drugs. I became the teenage boy fathers warned their daughters about. I became the guy mothers kept their sons away from.

But when I met her, things began to be clear to me.

And just like that, I knew my Uncle was right . . .

Love is magic and it will always be.
