Princess Celestia, and princess Luna. Right? Two sisters, that rule equestria. That's all.
But is that all? Do they have a third sister? If so, where did she disappear to..?
What happened to Princess Umbra Eclipse.
The magical land of Equestria. A wonderful place indeed, ruled by two sisters.
Two right..?
Despite the common knowledge, Equestria was ruled by 3 sisters. The eldest, Princess Celestia. The youngest, Princess Luna. And the middle, Princess Umbra.
As we all know, Celestia rose and lowered the sun, and Luna rose and lowered the moon. So.. what did Umbra do? She could do both, but not as you may think. She rose the moon and sun together, higher than the two sisters could. She'd make the most beautiful eclipses you would ever set your eyes upon.
She 'made' dusk and dawn, aswell.
Long ago, when only celestia and luna raised the moon and sun, the sky had no color from night to day, It was simply a flash from dark to light. Umbra thought, that there should be more beauty in the skies. She 'painted' the skies, a smooth, wonderful gradient from dusk to dawn.
Umbra loved her sisters dearly. Helping Celestia adjust the glare of the sun, and make constellation patterns with Luna. However, various pressuring words from others made the two sisters resentful, and jealous of Umbra. Celestia, more jealous than Luna, locked Umbra away under the two sisters' castle.
When the move to Canterlot occured, Umbra was taken with, and placed in the large cave system under Canterlots' castle. Although she had her own 'room' down there, It didnt feel like home for obvious reasons.
Her magic was stored in a large gem on Celestias throne, so she could not exit the caves. As a side effect of her magic being gone, her hair lost saturation and stopped flowing.
