Nightmares

There had been reports across Japan that the country was becoming more violent and crimes were on the rise, violent deaths, bodies being found dumped in random locations. People were worried, angry at the government, at the police for not finding who was responsible for committing these horrible acts on their victims.

"Yu-chan are you sure about going out this late?" Rika Honjo had asked
"You heard about that attack on that couple a couple of weeks ago, I mean that was down the road from us"

Yuuka Makoto looked at his brother watching the worry in his face.
He just sighs "I'll be fine, I'm just going to a friends apartment for a bit"

Rika glances at the clock on the wall
wanting to say something, anything but decides against it.

Yuuka puts his hand on Rika's shoulder giving a reassuring squeeze as he smiles at him.

"Fine but be careful it's dangerous at night lately"

Yuuka just waves him off as he walks out the door.

Rika stares at the now closed door and unease setting in the pit of his stomach.

Stepping out into the chilly night air Yuuka looks up at the sky enjoying the stars and the quiet  neighborhood. He starts walking down the road towards his destination keeping his  guard up but still enjoying the quiet night.

Walking for twenty minutes seeing cars driving by and some other people out walking. He looks up at the Tokyo Sky Tree seeing its lights on shining bright compared to the city which used to be lit up, safer and more people out, not having to worry if they'll be the next missing people or on the evening news.
Stopping at the crosswalk waiting for the light to change. Yuuka sees one other person on the other side of the crosswalk waiting as well but the street is empty save for those two.

The light changes and both men start walking across past each other. This other man must have not been paying attention as he walks into Yuuka and drops his phone on the ground.

"Hey! watch where your walking asshole!" this man yells.

"ah, sorry" Yuuka apologizes

The guy just flips Yuuka off and runs off down the road.

'Probably on drugs. Weird though his eyes seemed red almost glowing...maybe I imagined it' He  thinks as he continues walking.

'Which number was his apartment' as he sees the six floor apartment building. Reaching inside his suit jacket pocket pulling out a cigarette and lighting it up. As he inhales the smoke satisfying the craving he had since meeting up with his little brother but since he wasn't allowed to smoke inside their house.

He loves his younger brother and even his step sister even though she could be too energetic. 
The Honjo's are not bad people, they were forced to into adopting a child by a friend of them, who happened to be their father after he died.
Rika went with the Honjo's and he himself  went with the Makoto's.
Yuuka honestly thought he would lose contact with his brother and it did happen for a little while but Rika was the one to reach out to him one day and they continued to keep in contact afterwards.
Rika had told him what was going on with himself, about the famliy and his sister Yuri.

Yuu takes another drag of his cigarette as he reaches the lobby door of his friends apartment.
He stops to put his cigarette out while noticing that a man is behind him :has been for awhile. Unsure of what to do he says "Look I don't want to start any trouble but I have no problem defending myself"
Yuuka turns staring at this guy watching for any sudden movements.

The man from before just stands there a couple of feet away from Yuu not moving just watching him.

'What the fuck is wrong with this guy' Yuu thinks as he watches this  guy, who's not moving almost like a statue.
It's almost like a hawk watching its prey, waiting for the right moment to pounce.

Yuuka feels like his blood runs cold under this guys stare. He keeps watch on this guy in case he tries to get the jump on him. Yuu presses his back against the door trying to use his hand to open the door but it doesn't.

Yuuka starts to panic a bit fearing that he might die here and now. The man walks slowly forward, the stare this man has is terrifying it's intense, almost blood thirsty. It scares the hell out of Yuuka.

The man suddenly charges at Yuu catching him off guard at how fast he is. Yuu manages to doge out of the way landing on his side. Yuu looks up at the man seeing that he has smashed his face into the door leaving a huge crack in the glass. The man turns around glaring at Yuu giving a absolutely terrifying scream as his head bleeds from the multiple injuries on his face.

Yuuka manages to pull himself up to his feet and takes off running down the street while clutching his side from where he landed hard.

'Shit, Shit, What the fuck is going on with this guy'
The man isn't too far behind.

Yuuka runs towards some lights that is down some road he's never been on. He only hopes that he can find someone anyone to help stop this guy or a least be able to find a place to hide.
He can hear the mans growling and screaming almost like a rabid animal behind him.
Yuu can't tell how long he had been running for, where he was, where he was going all he knew was that his lungs felt like they were on fire, his mussels ached and the only sound to be heard was blood rushing in his ears and that crazy man's screaming behind him.

The man managed to grab Yuu's jacket with his almost claw like fingers pulling him down to the ground hard.
Yuuka in a daze from the adrenaline rushing through he body and the hard
landing hitting his head on the pavement.

The man grabs Yuuka by his shirt and stares at him hard. Yuuka watches  the man staring at him then feels a sharp stab, like a blade of a knife into his abdomen as the pain spreads across that area. Yuuka cries out in pain feeling as this guy twists the knife, cutting deeper into him.

Yuuka feels warm liquid soaking his clothes. Realizing its  his own blood scares him as his vision starts to fade, everything becomes numb and cold.

'Am I going to die' He thinks as he  loses consciousness.
