(nadia's first day of school outfit)

Nadia walked towards the East High high school, hand in hand with her boyfriend, Leo Martin. He was the only boy that dared to go out with her in her almost four years at the high school, and he was also only a junior while she was a scary senior now. However, she was only really dating him to keep her parents happy since he was on the Water Polo team and seemed to do pretty well in school for the most part.

"I am so excited for the new year. I can't wait to see what the fall musical is," Marcus, her twin, said cheerfully from next to them, fixing the red bracelet around his wrist.

"Who cares? The musical is for dorks and stupid thespians," Nadia commented, rolling her eyes. She never understood her brother's interest in the musical. While he was out dancing and rehearsing lines, she was practicing soccer and getting all the studying in that she could. But, she couldn't deny the fact that she was also musically inclined since she had been doing piano and singing lessons ever since she was five. She just thought all that singing and dancing with those stupid costumes on, on stage, was weird.

"Yeah, I agree," Leo said, but he wasn't really paying attention since he was tapping away on his phone as they walked inside the school.

"Well, I don't take your opinions into account, anyway. And who knows, maybe I'll find a boyfriend during rehearsals," Marcus said with an excited smirk on his face.

Nadia sighed. "If you want a real boyfriend, go join a sports team. The guys are one hundred percent better there," she told him, glancing at Leo to see if he noticed the compliment, which he didn't. She internally sighed and let go of his hand, turning towards her locker and doing the combination.

Some guys on the sports teams were great, but that didn't really include Leo. It was like he barely even payed attention to her, and by now, she would have said something but as long as she and him were together, that was good enough for her parents. During the summer he seemed to really like her, but since she really wasn't putting the same energy back, she assumed he stopped trying as hard.

"Oh, like, EJ?" Marcus teased and Nadia immediately gave him a scary glare.

"Do not say his name ever again," she warned, her eyes darkening.

Nadia had always been recognized as one of the best in her school before her family had moved and changed schools. When she went to East High, she expected no less than what she got at her other school, but EJ Caswell had completely ruined it for her.

He was always getting shoutouts over the PA and trophies in the trophy case that should have belonged to her. And this, of course, didn't help the fact that her parents seemed to think that anything she did wasn't good enough. So, when she didn't come home with a trophy to show off, all she faced were her parents' wrath.
