He made his way towards the drunk blonde who was waiting for him, eyes scanning the room out of habit to see who was attending and who wasn't.
"Look who finally came!" Kai yelled at the top of his lungs but it was carried away by the booming music and yells from the hundreds of people in the house.
"Are you okay?" Vinnie frowned, looking at his friend who looked like he lost his mind, clutching a cup of alcohol tight in his hand.
"Here Vin, take a shot." He passed him a small glass full of alcohol, and Vinnie made no hesitation to falter as he chugged it down his throat in an instant, the sensation making his brain fuzzy for a few seconds.
"That's my boy!" Kai sent him a clap on the back and a scream of joy as he grabbed another shot, passing it to him as he put his own drink down.
After Vinnie managed to take a couple more shots, he looked around for his bestfriend only to find him missing amongst the hundreds of people dancing. He decides to sit down at the bar on a stool and pulls his phone from his back pocket. He unlocks it to find countless combined missed calls from his father and his assistant. He lets out a scoff as he scrolls further down to even spot his mother's name on the list of missed calls.
"You owe me a drink." He heard a woman's voice say beside him. Vinnie looks up to be faced with the woman speaking to him. "I dropped mine when you walked by." She smirked as she stood there, "Is this seat taken?" The woman points to the empty stool next to him.
He shook his head in response, unbothered by her presence.
"I'm Astrid by the way," giving him another smile, "Astrid Rifton." Looking away, she signals for the bartender to bring her a drink.
"I'm-" He was cut off by the sound of her voice, "I know who you are-" Astrid thanks the bartender, grabbing her drink and swirling the contents of it with the straw, "Vinnie Hacker-" She turns back towards him, "Correct?" She inquired with a glint in her eyes, bringing the drink to her lips and taking the straw in between her teeth.
Vinnie answered by giving her no more than a scoff that left his lips, his mind full of thoughts but not one of them included the possibility that a beautiful blonde girl was choosing to sit next to him at the bar in attempts to hit on him.
"Pleasure to meet you too!" She answered sarcastically, giving him another look as she set her drink down.
"Yo!" They both snapped their head towards a voice of a boy yelling over the music, "Yo Vinnie!" He yelled again, signaling him towards himself.
"Vinnie!" Vinnie looked towards another familiar voice to see Tiffany running a hand through her hair, putting her phone in her back pocket as she walked towards the two at the bar.
"Look darling, he's not interested." Tiffany looked at the blonde girl, giving her a fake smile as she grabbed her best friend's arm, putting it around herself as they watched Astrid open her mouth again.
"See you around." Astrid said lowly under her breath, smiling as her gaze followed the trio moving through the crowd.
"Yo bro, where were you?" Kai brought his hand up to grab Vinnie's arm on the other side, "Bring him here, I have a surprise for you guys." Kai whispered under the loud music playing in the background.
"What surprise?" Tiffany yelled but her voice was barely heard over the music as she furrowed her brows in confusion.
"I'm going home, Kai." Vinnie mumbled under his breath as he steadied himself and started making his way towards the exit. A hand immediately wrapped around his arm as he was turned around, once again faced by Kai who was already pulling Vinnie back through the crowd. "Uh uh no Vinnie, not until you see my surprise." He said as he grabbed Tiffany along the way and continued to push both his friends, a giant grin pulled at his lips at the thought of his friend's reactions to the surprise.
