"scotty, are you even listening to me?"
"sorry niki, i promise you have my full attention from this very moment on", i said to her, slamming my locker door shut. i turned to her and was met face to face with my pink haired friend.
"let me guess, you pulled another all nighter for the third time this week?", lani questioned from across the room. what the hell! fucking mindreader.
we had just finished cheer practice and i was currently getting interrogated from all of the the team. unfortunately, this was now a reoccurring thing. i don't even know why.
i shrugged, fiddling with my skirt, "maybe i did, maybe i didn't, i guess we'll never know" "we're taking that as a yes", puffy and hannah stated, sitting down on the bench. "isn't it only thursday?", alyssa chimed in, standing beside the two sophomores in the room, drista and lani. the dirty blonde got several nods of confirmation.
drista shot me a concerned look, "dude, how are you not dead yet?" "hell if i know", i muttered. "what we're trying to say is we care deeply about your health and only want the best for you, scotty", niki reassured me, giving a soft smile.
"no scotty, what we're trying to say is, with no energy, how are you gonna entertain the whole school with yours and sapnap's daily bantering?" minx corrected, from the top of a locker. how the fuck- whatever, i don't even wanna know how she got up there.
alyssa and hannah nudged the purple-haired girl with while the others just laughed. "speaking of sapnap, when are you guys gonna stop arguing over every little thing and finally just admit your feelings for each other?", drista asked. the whole room fell silent and looked at her.
i genuinely couldn't tell if it was because they were shocked she had said it or they didn't know what the consequence would be if they were to agree.
"what? someone had to say it", she muttered, closing her locker door. "see! even the sophomore, who witnesses it the least, is well aware of what's actually going on between the two of you", puffy teased. "what she said", hannah agreed, laughing.
i just rolled my eyes, "you are all delusional, very delusional, i'm gonna go get the nurse" "come on, you now what we're saying is true", lani said, helping minx get down from the top of the locker.
"i bet you one day the two will become great friends and you'll be thanking all of us for letting you realize this early on", niki added with a teasing smirk on her face.
"yeah right!", i yelled, grabbing my belongings and exiting the locker room.
