No body, No crime

That's the thing about illicit affair. The clandestine meetings and longing stares. The world would be against the relationship between the two of them, but if they really want each other, no one can't stop them. Not even the legal wife.

I was dumbfounded. All along the mistress of Este's husband was serving us for a year and half at the olive garden. She never crossed in my mind as someone who will enter a very complicated situation. Her simplicity and innocent outlook doesn't look like it. But I think I am wrong. There's more under the mask, there's more to a pressed suit.

There's more of what you see at the spotlight.

She's younger than Este. She gets all she wants to do and be Derek's world despite of wrong circumstances.

I went home and prepared my things. I called Danielle for a help that she abruptly accepted. We meet at the olive garden for lunch and we even invited Derek who came so late.

"I'm sorry, something came up on the office. I'll order us our food-"

He was about to leave the table but I called someone, "Claudia can get our food." I said as I plastered a sly smile. "Claudia, 3 set of Este's favorite."

"She knows Este's favorite?"

I nodded. "We've been eating here for 3 years and Claudia's working here for a year and half, her memory is so great."

Danielle nodded in disbelief. "Oh yeah, I've joined you guys here before but I don't quite remember who was serving us that time," she peeked at Claudia's face, "but I think it was my mistake not to remember a very beautiful young lady."

Derek stayed quiet.

"Maybe, Claudia's on a date that time? I'm sure she wasn't the one who served us. Tell me, Clau," I incline on the table. "Are you dating someone now? I can put you on a blind date if you're not."

She clasped her hand as it was placed in front of her stomach. She stood there as if frozen.

"I... I can't go on blind dates. I have some works to do." I pout my lips and nodded in fake disappointment.

"You could've ride along with my game," I whispered. "Please get us our food."

She nodded politely and walk away.

"So, how have you been, Derek? It's hard to see you these days." Danielle started the conversation with him. It's been only a week since Este's wake. She was sent peacefully to the heaven, while the monster still lies here on earth.

I squinted my eyes, "are you dating someone already?"

Derek chuckled. "No," then he became serious. "I am diverting myself to work to avoid overthinking. I just miss Este and—"

"You better be—" Claudia came with the food. Derek tried to help her. Danielle and I look at each other not really surprise. "If I caught you with someone else, I'll kill you." I resume and laugh. Danielle laughed boisterously as well.

Claudia left after replacing our food on the table. We sat there quietly as we began eating.

After, we went out of the olive garden and bid our farewell. "Derek, can you meet me at Este's secret place?"

He was baffled when he look at me. "Sure. I'll be there by ten. I have some things to pick up there as well." I nodded and wave goodbye. Danielle and I watch him firmly as he hopped in to his car.

"You got to kill that son of a bitch!" Danielle gritted her teeth.

**

I walk out of Danielle's house and drove my car to Este's secret place where she was found dead. I came there earlier than Derek.
