Misunderstanding [Sage x Jett Valorant Story]

Chapter 1

Jett was in her room, brushing her snow coloured hair. She brushed it until the comb didn't stop for knots. She tied up her hair into a ponytail, just like every other day. She brushed her hair one more time and she was ready.
Today was the day, that she was going to confess her feelings for Sage. She was very nervous yet excited, she did not know how Sage felt about her. She fixed up her clothes and decide to talk to Phoenix about this because he was a very close friends.
"Hey Phoenix," Jett greeted.
"Aye! Mornin' Jett," Phoenix replied, "Wassup?"
"It's...about Sage..." Jett answered, she avoided eye contact with Phoenix to avoid extra awkwardness.
"Yeah what about her?" asked Phoenix.
"I like Sage, not as a friend, but more than that," Jett said quietly, but it was loud enough so Phoenix could hear.
"You...what now?!" Phoenix was surprised, "You like the healing girl?"
Jett shushed him, he was speaking too loud. She checked her surroundings to see if anyone was overhearing their conversation then looked at Phoenix and slowly nodded,
"Be quiet..." Jett said.
"Oh sorry, my bad, but this is so sudden, I mean...Killjoy did tell me that she thought you liked Sage," Phoenix said. Jett was shocked, her eyes widened, she looked up towards Phoenix,
"What?! Killjoy knows I like Sage? Did she tell anyone else?" asked Jett. Phoenix awkwardly laughed, he knew Jett wasn't going to like his answer,
"Uh...about that-" Phoenix was cut off by Killjoy entering the room,
"Ah! Morning Jett and Phoenix! Woah Jett, did you do something to your hair today? It looks gorgeous!" Killjoy complimented. Jett awkwardly smiled at her then immediately looked at Phoenix for an answer.
"Yeah, she told our whole team, including Sage," whispered Phoenix to Jett's ears.
"Hey what are you guys whispering about? Tell me about it too," said Killjoy jokingly. Jett then turned her head slowly to Killjoy, she seemed a little furious.
Jett then dashed to Killjoy and tightly grasped on her shoulders,
"Did you tell Sage that?" asked Jett, her voice wasn't a happy tone, it was a serious tone. Killjoy knew she shouldn't lie or joke about it.
"Tell Sage...what?" Killjoy asked, she was unsure about what Jett was talking about.
The moment Jett was going to say her answer to Killjoy, Raze and Sage entered the room,
"Good morning all of you! Did we sleep good or were my bombs too loud?" asked Raze.
"It was ridiculously loud, I couldn't sleep!" complained Killjoy. Raze laughed,
"Sorry 'bout that." Raze apologised.
Killjoy sighed.
Sage then walked up to Jett,
"Morning Jett, can we talk outside?" Sage asked nicely. Jett was panicking, her brain just stopped. She knew this was about Killjoy telling Sage that she liked her.
"Oh, Haha...um, of course!" Jett stuttered.
"Great! Let's go," Sage answered, Jett followed her outside to the balcony.
"So...what I was thinking was that, we could surprise our friends on a vacation to Venice!" Sage suggested excitingly. Jett was relieved, it wasn't about Killjoy telling Sage that Jett liked her.
"Oh um, sure! Great idea!" Jett agreed. Sage smiled,
"Great, we're going in 3 weeks, I booked a hotel for 15 people there. Phoenix knows about this too," Sage explained. Jett nodded. Sage was going to head back but Jett stopped her,
"Wait, Sage...I um..." Jett didn't know what to do. They've been friends for 4 years and Jett liked her for a year. She wanted to confess really badly before someone else did.
"Yeah? What's wrong?" Sage asked.
"Never mind, let's head back in," Jett didn't have the courage to confess, she was scared that Sage would've rejected her and their 4 years of friendship would've been all gone.
"Oh, alright, tell me if anything is wrong," Sage answered. Jett smiled and nodded, Sage then smiled back and went inside.

Sage's thoughts (POV but third person)

Sage walked back in, her favourite place to visit was Venice. She loved the canoes and the lovely vintage buildings there. It seemed like a very calm area and she was very excited to go there with her friends.
She considered Venice as an important place and she would despise anyone who did something to it. Enough about Venice, now about Jett. Sage liked Jett and she still does. She liked her for 9 months now. Jett was a pretty, talented and a smart girl. She would always she nice to Sage and help her whenever she needed assistance.
Sage would always think about Jett everywhere she went. She really wants to confess to Jett in Venice and ride a canoe together.

Sage went into her room after speaking with Jett.
"Keep dreaming..." Sage thought to herself, "How will a perfect girl like her, want to be with me?"
Sage buried her face into her pillow and stayed there for a couple of seconds. Phoenix then walked into her room.
"Oi Sage, I got a message from VALORANT headquarters saying we have a mission," Phoneix said. Sage immediately turned around to look at Phoenix.
"What do you mean? What's a mission? What's Valorant?" Sage was confused.
"Just read this message, you'll understand," Phoenix said, he then handed over his phone to Sage.

Dear Phoenix,

This is the VALORANT headquarters and we'd like to inform you that you and Sage will have a mission in 5 days. The location will be in Venice.
A strange portal has appeared at Venice and citizens has witnessed a human-like figure running around. The figure seemed to be hurting some people so we demand you both to come and help us on this mission.

"In Venice?! We have to go Phoenix," Sage begged.
"What why? This could be a prank letter, those are trendy nowadays," Phoenix asked.
"Come on Phoenix, its Venice! It's such a beautiful area," Sage said. Phoenix sighed, "We have no choice anyways..."
