I shouldn't be able to feel a drowning inside
When there's people actually sinking
Stop it, stop it, you shouldn't have cried
You never even suffered an inkling
But I'm so scared, I'm frightened of anything bad
And yet I chose the path of feeling sad
But oh, do take pity on me
Feed me sweet words so I can't see
Kiss me, hug me and caress my hair
Like a feather, I need gentle care
Or at least, I'm telling myself that I do
Just so I don't allow myself to live through
Anything harsh, anything broken
Hearing the words never spoken
Stop feeling like you can't breathe
When there's people, deep under sand
Cough, coughing, throats clogged up and dry
While all you do is think, think, think and cry
You're still on the boat, not tangled in seaweed
No wounds, no scrapes but you still fear to bleed
You're still alive, safe and away
Able to live another fucking day
So stop this strange fear of the dead,
It just might be what takes off your head

Words From That Time
PoetryI haven't written poetry in a while, probably because I've been in a better place mentally. So now, I decided to share the words I wrote from that time, from when my brain was in shambles and poetry was the only way I could sort of make sense of it.
